Hi. I was wondering if there was any interest in doing a DnD map for role playing sessions. Here are some of the features i'd be interested in including:
- Selectable Character Models
- Movement range
- GM ability to spawn units and flag them as friendly / hostile / neutral
- GM ability to speak as any NPC
- Line of sight/cover
- A chat window with history
- An in game graphic dice rolling engine
Basically you could play with your buddies online via battlenet the same as at a table, but the map/characters would be in beautiful 3D.
Well, to be honest, it would be more of a generic tool for making nice maps and moving characters around, to visualize the game like you would with a paper map and miniatures. By making it generic, you could use it for any roleplaying game. But if i were to incorporate specific rules and mechanics, it would be from the 4e edition.
Unfortunately I think there could be some copyrights problems, if anyone knows something about the Wizard of the Coast d20 system license I would be glad to listen ;)

Any ideas?
Fully based on the pen and paper series? and if so, which version?

It would be a very nice idea. A few problems you'll come across:
