Has there been any work on the map? if yes, how is the map doing?
Small note: I suggest we call the 'strains' for the Protoss units Aspects. For example the Vindicator Aspect (random name i made up). How does that sound?

Well, SC1 used "Aspect" for Hydras -> Lurkers, Mutas -> Guardians, and Mutas -> Devourers. How about something like "Discipline", since it's more in-line with the teaching and schooling fundamentals prevalent in Protoss society?
Discipline could also be a fitting name, but remember that Protoss also have the 'Disciple' rank for the units with less than five kills. It might be too similar.
Could I suggest something you could do ? For now, the terraining is moving forward at slow pace and it could take a few more days for the machine to start ! In the meantime, we must sum up ideas and discriminate best ones. In my opinion, names are details, whether we call it ancients, avatars, aspects etc... For now we must decide in what direction the gameplay should go. Epicprawn, it would be perfect if you could help DrSuperEvil in the reflexion of all these things. Be constructive boys :).
We already have people assigned to datas and assets, we should create some document or sum things up so they can begin to work.
I will take care of seeing how the terraining goes on.
If you guys feel like the mission 1 had enough talks, go on to the next one, but I want you to agree ;). Also if other people assigned to data and assets and other want to participate in the thinking of this they are very welcome !
Sorry not implying much these past few days, but the begining of big projects are always a lot of thinking work and organization :).
First, we should have a cinematic to connect mission 1 and two in story.
Second, here my ideas of mission 2:
* Mission 2: The First Scent
Objective: Get to know more about the Legion's plans
Available units: Jaedur
allies: Zealots
Enemies: Terran Forces
Quests:
Reach all 5 Data Storages
Escape the Facility
Jaedur must survive
Story/Gameplay: You start on the Science Vessel where the Conquest Legion stored special information and their plans. You get inside and fight a way to each of the Storages. Occasionally some allied Zealots help you out. Once you reach the final Storage, the Vessel starts a meltdown and you must return to the start before the Facility explodes.
That sort of objective sounds like a mid campaign mission after you have properly introduced the villains.
I think mission two should be about introducing the character that is the main hero giving backstory and insights into personality through self reflection. Your proposal would be to action packed to enable such idle thoughts.
I liked the idea proposed earlier about him being a near lone guard of some xelnaga vault that even the guards no longer know what it is before being interrupted.
Here is my proposed mission 2: A Purpose Rekindled
Objective: Protect the vault
Available Units: Hero of better name (proposals anyone?)
Allies: Zealots, photon cannons and the odd stalker
Enemies: Wildlife and Terran Intruders
Quests:
Stop the wildlife from eroding the vault (tunnelling bugs and mineral absorbing plant thingies) (/7)
Engage the intruders
Destroy the enemy beachhead
Save the vault
Hero must survive
Story/Gameplay:
You control the hero who introduces himself with melancholy about how he has been tasked to guard the place for as long as he can now remember. His duty involves endless patrols down winding tunnels that branch from the vault with the odd cavern occasionally passing by the odd fellow guard. The tunnels also have arching rock formations that are flat on top just wide enough for marine/ghost/marauders.
The only enemy he fights is some kind of colonial bug (retextured crabeetle) that tunnels to expand their nests/find food and through their numbers threatens the stability/integrity of the vault and some kind of plant like creatures (zerus walking plant with the zerus tentacles forming an attacking crown) that seeks minerals used in the vaults composition decomposing it.
There is a comment from the hero how they are not real adversaries as they lack sentience and merely are driven by instinct to survive and how he wants to face the zerg because they are the enemy that have challenged all protoss (ego).
The thoughts are interrupted when a large terran mining machine breaches the outer rim of the vault tunnel system. Suddenly there are marines/ghosts jumping from the arches infront/behind you and terran patrol teams attacking from all sides.
You must destroy the anchors that hold the machine in place allowing safe passage of terran troops. To do this you eliminate their small base and slay the commander before smashing the anchors.
You then get a message from a dying ally zealot that the vault has been breached. You then must run to the entrance of the vault to find it opened. The mission ends with a cinematic of you entering the vault to engage whatever opened it.
The mission i posted was only the thing we talked about earlier, not anything else. I think your campaign mission is more like a mid campaign mission as objective, while i think mine is actually a starting mission :P. Having a big mission as second mission isn't a good idea, IMO.
Of course the later battle would be spiced up.

Good luck!
A new team member should be working on mission 1 sketches by the time we talk. I need confirmation.
And I need debate or at least suggestions for improvement.

@epicprawntime: Go
That is about as similar as car and carp.
@Miles07: Go
What about attainment? destiny? calling? Remember protoss also believe a lot in the preordained.

I think we've had enough discussion about mission one for now, let's move on to the second one. I will post my ideas about the second mission later.

Names need big work.

Mine sounds longer than it is. First mission big battle tutorial almost god mode second one slow paced and character building.

I guess we'll go with yours then, but again, the mission should not be too long.
By terran base I meant 1-2 barracks and maybe a bunker.
Also can you think of how to properly introduce the hero when you only meet him in the middle of an infiltration mission?
Still we should keep that mission idea for later

Already said it, make a cinematic connecting mission 1 and 2 and telling the story of the hero.
Too many cinematics make it an Ashura's Wrath. A lot of plot development must happen during game play as must character development.

How many people in total are working on this thing and what positions are yet to be filled for you guys? Maybe we could stroll forward together...
@Forge_User_23962875: Go
The project is kind of dead. I have no idea about how it died. There were about 6 people working on this project, but i fear it's already too late.
@epicprawntime: Go
Too bad, it looked like a promising project.
Did you guys have a alpha or a first draft on one of these missions? Could I perhaps take a look at them?
Maybe I could generate some ideas or contribute in any way.
