I was going to download and try to figure out the editor, but the realized that maybe someone else has already developed the same map. No sense in re-inventing the wheel.
I am looking for a multiplayer map for a friend and myself to play on against computer AI. I am thinking of either a large rectangle or maybe a large oval (either is ok). With a choke point between the 2 sides. Not a small choke point, that would be boring. I am thinking of a choke point large enough where you could place about 15 terran seige tanks side by side.
On either side you would have as much vespene gas and mineral fields (or even rich mineral fields) as a person could want (read that as a TON of gas/minerals, if it were possible even have the gas/minerals never run out. (don't know if that part is possible).
Basically we like to find that choke point and just build a massive army. and see how long we can hold against the different types of AI (easy, medium, hard, etc). Then after we have everything researched (and have all the nice big toys) then try to punch into the enemy. Only problem is by then the enemy (computer) usually has run out of cash and there isn't much left of the enemy in terms of their army. .. It's usually just the buildings. My logic is if they had more cash/supplies available it might make things more interesting.
Has anyone developed a map like this. There doesn't have to be a lot on the playable map (in terms of rocks and hills .. just need a large space to run in on either side of the map, with the choke point at the center).
Almost forgot... on one side have two places for starting points.. and on the other side have 3 places for starting points. That way if we decide to expand to the 3 AI players we can. This should help for us to start on one side and the computer to start on the other side of the map/choke point.
Edit: in last paragraph changed "on one side have to places for starting points." .. changed that to "on one side have two places for starting points."
I have created and attached the map (you can publish it under your name, I don't mind) I would, however, recommend creating a dedicated arcade map for this- rather than a modified melee map that took me 5 minutes to make if you want a attack into a big base feel.
I do appreciate it. I will give the game a run either tomorrow or friday. I published it under andrew_crooked maw
but i think i messed up and it is published under custom games, and not under dedicated arcade. I can delete it and republish it under arcade. what would be the difference? Sorry I didn't understand what you were trying to say in the last couple of lines of your post.
the last couple of lines did not have to do with the publishing, but I was suggesting that if you are going for a "attack into a big base feel" then you might want to consider designing a map dedicated to this kind of gameplay
as far as custom games vs arcade, I don't think it makes a difference, however I added a couple optional triggers (for modifying supply caps and resources in-game) that may not work as a custom game. -other than that possibility, I think it is irrelevant.

this is rather simple to create- the hardest part would be making the terrain look pretty.
if no one else responds today, I can make it really quick.
