I got this Idea for an Science fiction space fighter game. You'll pick your fighter type and do objectives. Meanwhile you find Mods and new pieces for your fighter and refit them onto your ship. I'm not aiming for big ships, but just the smaller ones like the Viking, Banchee, Phoenix, Voidray and Brutelord. Also there will be 2 teams so you can fight each other. Plz give comment and say what u think about it if its good or not. Also tips about the gameplay will be appreciated. I'm not sure I'm gonna do it because its a pretty big concept. Thanks in advance =3
Well... SC2 engine is not designed for 3D movement like one shown in the video and that (imo) is the main feature of this game. You would have to depend only on 2D movement which is right/left forward/backward and thats not very viable for what seems to be flight simulator. Moreover you would have to implement WASD movement which for what I know is laggy
If you manage to go over such issues I'll be glad to try your game out since I miss some decent space fights
hehe that kinda a problem, I'm not sure I'll be able to add hight into it. Also I tried the Data Editor WASD movement, seems less laggy than the Trigger one.
the Data WASD system is realy smooth when I test it but I don't know how it will be when it goes multiplayer... Well I'll see if I get everything working.
Data WASD is lagless, but it can't handle turning (to my knowledge). I have a mod that lets players play a regular SC2 game, but take control of single units with this view, and it sucks online because the game constantly freezes. That's not to say yours won't work, but it's just a warning.

From my experience with FPS games I can tell you that delay higher than 100ms does make a difference and above 200ms is unplayable
