i love space fights, but space battle is not epic enough for me. That´s why i started to work on a map, where you can control a space fleet and do some nice space fights. For that i created a squad system, to make the battles more epic. and fighter will behave like interceptors, so they dont stand there and shoot, they fly around.
I already created a kind of alpha version, but i´m not really sure about the economy system. Right now it´s based on Dawn of war 2 (capture towers to get income, capture and hold tactical targets to decrease the score of your enemy and win the game) this would mean fast space action and that a round is about 10 minutes. But i could also imagine another system where you control planets to gather minerals, travel via wormhole from system to system (teleporter/ transport unit) and conquer a whole star system, meaning a round would be a lot more than 10 minutes. Also balancing would be very important. And until now i created protoss and zerg units, but no terran. It´ts only me, i could use fresh ideas :)
That´s why i need more people for that. Maybe anyone likes space battles too and wants to help me (as a team).

never played Dawn of War but I think you could modify the system I've seen in the video so you gain recources over time by holding xel nagas (Company of Heroes system)
yeah this is the same system :) down of war 2 is from the same people who created company of heros. i really like that, because it forces you to constantly fight against each other and no chance to hide in your base...

as you can see in the picture, there are some certain captureable points that give you income increase once captured
by modifying income rate you encourage players to think of some cool strategies. Thats my suggestion
