Hello everyone, I am starting my next big project and want your opinions. Title says it all, feel free to PM me or post here saying which you would rather see. Once it is decided I will be in the Team Recruitment page looking for 1-2 Terrainers to assist me, a Triggerer, and some Alpha/Beta Testers when the time comes.
The Ulduar would be done faster and as close to wow as it can be, for those who dont know what it is I have a video on youtube of it. Ulduar is about a fight against the titans that are being controlled by the old God of Death Yogg-Saron that had broken free of its eternal prison and took control of the Titan City of Ulduar. Features in this map would include, WoW Boss Models and Buildings, Siege Vehicles, Custom Heroes with Talents, Tank Healer and Damage Roles and more!
The 'Whole New RPG' would take a close to a year, it would start from scratch with different textures and imported models from Diablo/WoW. Dugeons, Raids, 30-40 levels with all different leveling zones with their own story-line leading up to the final raid. Will have about 5-8 dungeons and 2-3 raids. Each dungeon will have 3-5 bosses and each raid will have 4-6 bosses. Dungeon bosses will have mini easy to avoid mechanics and raid bosses will have mechanics that require SOME not alot but some communication, timing abilities, countdowns to deadly abilities that require movement to X location, etc. Features include all new models and buildiing, POSSIBLE SIEGE VEHICLES, Tank Healer and Damage Roles, Custom Heroes and more!
Please let me know which you would like to see as Starcraft 2's next big map!!
Also UPDATE to everyone, I need 2 more Terrainers, 1 Data Assistan (The hardest position, demands very advanced spell/effect use), and 1 Trigger Assistant, 1 Artist (Icons and Loading Screen).
I like the idea, but I must ask. Can you actually do all of this? First, do you know how to use the data editor well enough to create this sort of a project and secondly, how close to a WoW theme are you wanting to go?
I'd be more than happy to help out if you're really serious about this idea.

Ive played WoW for 5 years and SC for 7. If Ulduar wins I am going to decide either overhead like SC or 3rd person like WoW, and I will import buildings and unit models from wow but use SC2 textures. And I myself specialize in Data.

Quite honestly I think he's underestimated how long it will take. I've been working on an RPG now for over a year and we're just getting near to our first alpha tests.
You might be right Nebuli2, but is important that he does underestimate the time it will take, so he has a chance of starting, oblivious to the horrid reality of how long this kind of thing can take, lol.
Hmm looks like there was a copy of this thread elsewhere posted that I saw first. I vote New RPG I explain my post more in the other thread but this seems to be the only one with activity.
Depending on what kind of terrain you need I could possibly help out if my skillz are enough for you (you will soon be able to see my own Corruption RPG on the US servers). Though this whole project, with the "only take a few months" seems quite unrealistic to me. Nevertheless I like RPGs and I love to do terrain that tells a story in itself for RPGs. Consider this post as a way for me to keep an eye on this project and see who else joins in.
As mentioned by others, right now it all seems just a bit unrealistic; the lack of content and the lack of a contenttable or anything alike. I wont just jump into the project because I'm afraid I have wasted my time once too many on unrealistic & overambitious projects :) If you want to be the leader of the project (all projects needs a projectleader or it's instantly doomed), then give us a real reason to join the project, give us proof that you take the project seriously and will dedicate everything it takes to get it done. Otherwise you will end up with a bunch of people who prematurely jumps right into an unknown project and then abandon it after a short while, because they are in fact not that motivated and doesn't truely dedicate themselves to it, nor truely believe in it as a project after the "THIS IS AWESOME ASDFGHJKL" period.
I ask for some realism, is this ever going to be finished? How will you make sure it doesn't end up in the trash bin together with 95% of other started RPGs?
Im sorry if I sound a bit harsh, but I'd like to see you succeed
Lets not discuss that here. Im only saying I want to help out with terraining, it's probably my favourite part of mapping, and that part is pretty much done for my own map - only a few modifications once every many versions -. Sooo I just want to get back into terraining :)
It wont slow down development on my own project. When Im in the mood to terrain, I do so anyways by doing something completely useless most of the time - why not use it for something useless, right :)

@Cybrok: Go
I'd go for the Ulduar one. Ulduar was a pretty awesome raid.
@Nebuli2: Go
Lol I LOVE ulduar myself but i got nice ideas for the RPG, thanks for the vote.
@Cybrok: Go
I have to vote for a new RPG of course, remakes can be novel, but be a lot funner to see a new RPG instead, lot more possibilities.

I'd say Ulduar

@madlibrarian: Go @Nebuli2: Go @Deadzergling: Go Thank you all for the vote!
Currently 2 New RPG - 1 Ulduar
I think you're being unreasonable there :/
Vote for "Whole New RPG".
Whole New RPG please. :)
@Mille25: Go
Thanks for the Vote! 2-3 Ulduar to RPG
Ulduar remake is epic.

I could help you with terrain. If you'd like to check out some of my work, I'll link you a few pictures.
Edit, and I vote for Ulduar remake.

I vote for ulduar, my favorite WoW raid ever.

Why not just work on corruption rpg?
