This will be the official thread for my custom campaign called A Silent Scream.. It's my first real take at using the trigger and data sides of the editor. I've always been a melee mapmaker, with my greatest achievement getting a map into the ladder and Blizzcon map-pool.
Im still trying to figure out a lot of the more advanced functions, but there's so much stuff im getting new ideas all the time about the gameplay. Its a really exciting feeling. Right now im trying to make interesting looking cinematics as I noticed I'm not able to make them feel "real" enough.
I suppose I should probably say something about the story, but, honestly, there's not much to tell without spoiling some major events that will be told later on in the story. What I can tell you is this : the campaign features the struggles and the journeys of Ma'lash during a conflict happened years before the events of Whispers of Oblivion. It will quickly evolve into a much larger story, with plenty of characters that will face the consequences of their past actions. Everything is connected, right?
Right now I'm still trying to figure out how the small plots will connect in interesting ways, I have some ideas about the gameplay, but i usually make the most stuff up as I go into the making of the terrain.
The first mission , which is meant as some sort of prologue to get used to the campaign settings, is currently uploaded as a beta version.I should note it was built using a template map from crimson moon, so there might be some old and unused code strings around. It's a pretty straightforward one, I build it as some sort of playground for me to get some pratice. I'm not nearly as good as EivindL is, but I'm trying my best. Expect some heavy twists and major stuff that you won't understand right now. You were warned.
Feel free to comment on both the bugs and gameplay features you'd like to see removed/added. Everything is appreciated :D
Looks super awesome! Can't wait until I feel comfortable enough with Xeyed to get dedicated to making a campaign for it.
I always wanted some backstory on the Taldarim, whether canon or non-canon, they seem really interesting. Gotta be able to see characters come and go tho cause of the Chain of Ascension deal. A little oblivious as to why there are terran in the pic tho. How far in time is it going back?

Looking for feedback on my custom races extension mod called "Scion Custom Races (Mod)"
I like this map very much. I dont know if this units are in the editor or u made them custom but they look astonishing. Mission was a bit to easy dont know if u intended it that way. The map itself is very nice made although missing some more details.... i cant belive its your first one (u look like an old veteran!) After i finished the mission all of a sudden i was taken to sc start screen and i screamed: i want more!
Ok boys, I've spent a couple of hours sorting out the last knots in the story. I've changed the structure a bit, for the better I think.
Mission1 : Fear no evil
Mission2 : Showdown
Cinematic1: No turning back
Mission3 : Stranger in a strange land
Mission4 : Demon’s fair
Mission5 : Carpe diem
Mission6 : Face off
Cinematic2 : Drops in the ocean
Mission7 : The darkest night
Mission8 : Civil War
Mission9 : Phoenix
Cinematic3 : Going on
Mission10 : Finale
Cinematic maps will consist of about 6-7 minutes of storytelling by cinematic work with atleast one short gameplay section.

Glad you like it. As I just finished rewriting parts of the story, Mission01 will have to be updated. Could you please tell me what do you mean with "missing some details"? Did you find any bug also?
This seems cool! It's not always you see a campaign making its own story out of a pre-existing character. Quite interesting premise. I'll have to try out the beta of the first mission sometime soon. :)
StarCraft II: Annihilation Campaign - A 24 mission single-player campaign featuring unique heroes, custom tracks, boss battles, a varied set of mission scenarios and three intersecting storylines.
I just found it looked a bit 2 melee-ish and was missing some visual details. But not really that much... I also forgot that there was a bug where malash name has 4 bars. One normal and one up floating in the air which was a bit confusing.
I'll have a new version of the first mission with sone stuff added to make the story connect easier with the entire plot and some gameplay changes. Also , mission number two is getting some work done. Its gonna be huge lol
Progress is slow on the second mission, unfortunately. I know how I want to start and end it, it will be a big macro mission. What I'm not sure about is what mechanic to add. Current plan is to have a set of bridges that connect the factions , and during the game the enemy nukes them , making you unable to access specific areas of the map without air units. Would that be fun to play?
On a side note, mission one will be considered finished from now on, though I plan to get back to it and polish it a little bit more when the campaign is more than halfway done so I have all the small plot lines in without forgetting anything. Thats all for now :(
Speaking of macro missions.... playing these great custom campaigns on this site i seen a pattern where the maker adds the same attacks in his game. For example in the whole campaign u would be forced to mine and defend your base until the 20 min... or u have to destroy every building on the map. Its not something really that annoying but i feel a campaign is more fun if the enemy ai offers variety in each macro mission. So just some feedback/thoughts that u might come across when making your future missions.
I tested your map this evening. It´s a nice map I think. Nice terraining in my opinion, nice feel.
Mal´ash is a powerful hero indeed, had very fun with my thor army.
The story can be very interesting already you want to know more about the hero and why he was there and what is the thing about his past. So good work!
The only little thing I encountered was the east bonus objective. I got my units warped in before I got the actual objective, so when I in the end got the east bonus objective it would not be completed. Perhaps it is executed with some region that I missed =)
It´s a small thing just wanted you to know. Looking forward to the next mission.

"My past. Soon it will be no more."
Looks cool!
Hey man , you and Dudki are the major reasons I started creating this campaign. Glad you seem to like it.

The name sounds kinda creepy/scary. I've been wanting to see what a truly scary campaign could be like... :)

the only scary thing would be u playing terrans...
