Hey community :) I wanted to share my new map and hopefully get some feedback. Let me preface and apologise it's only on EU so far. (Update: It is now available in all regions)
There are two kobold tribes in the forest, up to five players on each. The objective is to destroy the enemy tribe. This can be done by surviving the harsh conditions of the forest and outlive the enemy, or simply to seek them out and ensure their utter destruction.
There are three survival stats - warmth, hunger and fatigue - that need to be managed lest you freeze or starve to death.
You gather resources like lumber and stone to make camps, even small villages. You can craft various weapons and armor and learn powerful spells. You also specialize in different skills like foresting, mining, cooking, etc.
To encourage fighting between the tribes, there are quests randomly spawning that both tribes will want to accomplish for grand rewards that can give an edge in the conflict.
As you play you gain perk points that can be spent to gain minor passive bonuses that last between games.
These are the main features. Thank you for your time and I hope you can spare a moment to try it out (there is a tutorial button on the map page, highly recommended). *gives candle* ;)
Well I tested it. Many people were sturgling to even open backpack and they didnt even figure out how to eat (thats how hopeless people are)
From my own experience I really liked the custom models and icons and overall game great atmosphere. Also the resource system seemed pretty interesting.
Things I think were kinda difficulty (might be because of first time). Was keeping track of what items you have and your health/temperature etc...there could be somekind of warning or something.
You could consider adding quests like "build fire" cause thats what you need pretty early right? I would also consider adding images to the tooltips of the "build" tab. So you could easier figure out what is rock/berries/wood (if you didnt already).
Seemed pretty solid from first try. It felt kida weird thou since all resources were nearby and didnt even have to do exploring and only saw animals when they attacked us at night (which was in a weird sudden way).
remove the CLICK TO CONTINUE, no reason at all to have than to be super anoying

I'm curious what you mean about the "Click to continue" though?
A pretty big issue that has appeared seems to be that players using a certain language client (russian from what I hear) are unable to open the backpack in any way, making the game unplayable for them. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this? I'm at a loss for ideas. Is it something in the editor that I've missed?
Ressources are too easy to get. If you know the game, you can have all Items in the Game after 5-10 Minutes. Make the good Things need really rare stuff! Why i should make an Axe, when i get the Gun so easy?
Also, more variation would be nice. You give the stuff different abilitys, what is fine, but not enough to really need choose wisley, what you use.
The, the usage of the Stuff. 6 Armor for the Best Amor. The Murloc NPC Questmob does 100 Damage. Useless.
And catching the last enemy on the map is boring. You cant search for him, cause you need to rest constantly, harvest new wood for a tent ect. until you find him. Maybe another Winoption would be nice, if one tribe is really, really in the lead. Maybe a Wonder to contruct with enormous cost if ressources and buildtime?
Sounds hard, but i enoyed the map really. Could become a classic, if you continue you work in it :)
Thats the kind of map i really missed in the sc2 maps.

i would consider the points from peraine1, those are good advises.
I would aswell add more items which u could combine, for example more hides (for more different armors) which can only found by new mobs, which are of couse stronger and not be able to be slain in the beginning and by 1 man. Those new armors could prevent u from loosing warmth or something.
I also think that more herbs would be very cool, maybe herbs which are poisoned, and u can only find it out by eating it, after you found out it is a poison herb, u may attach it to a weapon or something.
i really like this map and would be very happy if you continue your work =)
You can add so many features that the map really doesnt get boring ;)
wolf sword is practically useless for the cost (very hard to get and it sucks)
iron ore is so hard to get you just pile up stone, stone, stone and have to drop it constantly (might be nice to have usage for stone or something)
cooking recipes is cool idea, but Im not sure if all the effects are good enough (especially the beer steak)
lower tier armor and weapons are useless cause high end stuff is so easy to get
locating other players can be quite hard
spells feel practically useless (why not have something like instantly gain 50 warmth or 50 fatigure), I just dont feel like even getting them
Overal I would just like to have more stuff to build or something. You dont even feel like survival, its more like build fire/tent until you get enough iron ore for armor and sword, then go battle it out. Not exactly sure what I would change thou.
great map and design, you should get updates going as soon as possible, since there are quite a lot of people playing it at the moment.
comments:
-the shrines are too far and in between, a lot of newbies die early and its discouraging for them to be unable to be ressed, I haven't even found one shrine yet, and i've been looking for 3-4 games. to try to res my dead members
-spells are too weak and not worth money
-higher level weapons are too easy to get and people just skip the earlier weapons
-introduce mobs that encourage teamwork
-iron ore is way too rare for something that needs to be used to build alot of stuff
- would like to see more building types, maybe walls, defences
also think this map should be about teamwork (thats what differentiates this from dark deeds imo anyways), the goal should be the end game of 5v5 the most organised tribe with the best economy, tactics etc win, at the moment whats happenins is 3 noobs die on one team at the start, so it becomes like 2 v 5 instantly.
Most commonly is that nobody knows how or that they need to build a campfire on the first night and they die. So you have to tell them ,gather stone and gather wood to build a campfire, then they can probably pick up from there. OR "Group up with more experienced players to survive the first night"
i disagree about the spells being uselless the nature growth gives you unlimited herbs which is verry handy for cooking the scanner is handy for scouting the enemy base and hunting them down and frost armour, life steal and leather coat makes you almost invulnerable in battle. but all the spells are pretty expensive so i thought maby give it its own survival stat and a apart building for learning spells and building magic items. i know this will make the tavern less usefull so i thought maby give it a function to fully rest your warmth hunger and fatique. i also noticed that it takes much time too cook (i havent fully examined the murlock slave) maby make a hireable cook who automaticly looks for raw food on the ground and in the storage and cooks it and than drops it in a lunchbox or something. i think it might be fun to have some creep camps around the map with (just a suggestion) murlocks or ogres in it and not just for killing, it also would be fun to befriend that creep camp. and as for extra weapon and armour ideas, a bow (for in main hand, crafing materials wool and wood) a magic tome which gives you a unique new spell (for in off hand, crafting materials leather magic sunflower and an ramdom material which will determine the spell it gives) a mantle or cape which will negate the effect of rain (for in armour slot crafting materials 2 wool 2 leather) a sword besides wolfsbane would be nice. talking about wolfsbane get it to cost -15 leather and -1 iron. and a shield which is more advanced than the current craftable one. and warrior oriented armour which wont slow you down. this are my ideas for improvement i hope helped you in improving this game
First of all i love this map, didn't play it's wc3 version but i love how developer managed to make it's ambience so appropriate in a game like sc2. I love the general controls, the interface and the whole idea. It's definitely a five star custom map.
But i got some critisism and wouldn't do it for any other map cause i simply don't care.
Going solo is much more effective than being a team because of the chaos with ingredients and materials and so forth. Newbie players fill the storage with useless stuff and it gets full, interface of storage is difficult. Storage itself is not used mostly in games because of this. And i don't think anyone ever used the horse skill in it- the whole material moving thing. I think it needs much more space and should be a easier to use. Also when you're close to the storage, it should look like you already have those items in your backpack when you're crafting or cooking. That'd work for artisan and cook. I feel like these kind of changes would encourage teamplay. The spike trap is also not worth while in my opinion, maybe a trap net which didn't do damage but immobilized the opponent for like 5 seconds would be better.
So these were my thoughts i really like this map and that's why i took the time to write this, hope it doesn't sound jerky or anything, bravo to the developer for making a top played custom map!

The current weapons and armor need some tweaking as people above me have mentioned, but don't just increase the time it takes to gather gear. Most games are already SimCity until 25+ mins.
Mounts and static defenses could be an interesting addition to this map.
Oh and an alternative way to win would be cool, chasing that last guy or being that guy chasing 2 others while you're ahead and could win a 1v2 fight if you only found them is really... meh.
this game is definitely one of the best games currently available at Battle.Net. I enjoyed playing it and found the creative part as well as the technical part very well done. Good job. Of course I don't just post to say this, so here are my ideas of making the game better:
(some of them have been said here before, so listing them here means that I strongly support them!)
Give more information about the game. When I die I had no idea there was a way to revive. If there was a message, it just got lost. A big dialog giving me information about a shrine, and maybe even showing it to me would encourage me to stay in game and communicate with my teammates to make them revive me.
I've no real idea how to take things over and it's never said anywhere. Why not simply make me overtake structures by standing next to it for more than 10 seconds or so and give it a nice bar, so I see that I'm overtaking (easily done with behavior and shown countdown).
I like the concept of getting high up items by doing those quests. That really gave some reasons to go into Pvp. However, after a certain point one player can be extremely strong and too hard to take down, even in 3v1. If it's easier to be revived, maybe reduce the bonuses, especially armor, a little?
Give more possibilities to defend your base. I like the spike trap, but something like a watch-tower you can climb onto and use a special range attack might be cool. Or more possibilities for traps. The spike trap doesn't really deal damage against players, so there's no real use for them. Luring enemies into traps could be a great feature of the game though. Just think about poison traps that slow down enemies, and a fire trap that deals damage as long as you're standing in it. Thinking of these trap-combinations could be a great thing.
Make the game play a warning sound, when any of my stats reaches around 15 or less.
Share buildings by default, so allies can turn my campfire on, use my tavern, etc.
Add more buildings that are really hard to acquire. As said above, it just takes about 5 minutes to construct everything. What I'd find really, really great would be something like the construction of wonders: A huge building, that has certain phases of construction and can be build cooperative. If it's finished it grants your whole team an advantage. An idea would be: "Temple of the Rain God". First phase requires 10 stone, when all 10 stones are placed close ot it, it advances to phase 2 where you need 10 sticks. When that's done as well, you advance to phase 3 where you need 10 spice, for example. When it's done, you and your allies don't get the soaked debuff, when it's raining. Just an example of what it could be like.
I rate your map 5/5 stars. Worth playing and replaying! Again, this is one of the best maps out there!
Very fun, I prefer this to troll tribes as the troll tribe maps have that poorly-done feel about them and generally run like crap, and the terrain itself is awful. Kobold Tribes just has a better flow and feel about it.
The map is very easy to understand, when I first played it I pretty much figured it out in the first half of the game and then in the rest of the games it was pretty easy. Yes, there are idiots on b.net, and they have a huge voice and population, but I doubt despite that they will get in your way. Idiots will still play the map even if they struggle to learn it even after 10 games. I made Empire Builder, which has practically no help for players yet still has a 5/5 rating and high popularity, and there are big differences in learning curve between the two games. I would say don't worry about the idiots, but the problem here is that this is a 5v5 team game where if one team has a bunch of idiots and the other does not, it's game over... but then isn't that how people win games? Be less stupid?
If are in the process of crafting something and the building you're crafting from is destroyed or in the case of a campfire, burns out, the materials you were crafting are also destroyed.
You can't pick up gold when your backpack is full even though gold does not take up any backpack space.
A few more suggestions:
Imo food shouldn't work as a heal, there should be craftable health pots for that matter. Health could maybe still regen slowly while your hunger is above 50 or something like that.
You should be allowed to alter perks before the game begins rather than after it ends.
EDIT: I took a closer look at the weapons and the only weapon I believe 100% needs a rework is the Berserker's Battle Axe. It requires a rare Shadow Stone to be crafted and is simply worse than the cheaper Sharp Iron Pickaxe.
If multiple people click to revive one player at the same time, the revived player can end up with an amount of Kobolds equal to 1 + # of reviving players
Two problems with perks :
- when I click on the Perks tab at the end it regularly freezes the whole game and I have to restart the computer
- otherwise and other players reported it too the perks disappear and you start from scratch again.
Also a good spell to add could be either a boost to go faster for a few seconds or a blink to 'jump' a few yards away, in this way harassing ennemies or running away could be more tactical. As it is now it lacks possiblities in combat which is a bit frustrating/boring.

I mean absolutely no offense but you place basic information somewhere, the best would be to do it both here and in tutorial, like how do I open backpack? How do I eat? I tried figuring some things on my own but I still have no idea how to do this :(
OH HEY I know why I can't open backpack - you can add Polish client of SC2 to those malfunctioning

Sure there are players that cannot maintain their hunger....and die after 2days. (i died too, but if you like it, you will master it)
The tutorial can be improved for this basics. Like i'm searching right now for the key to drop everything from my bag.(anyone here can tell me ?)

After second test most problems are with the UI
its so teadious to cook meat (give option to cook all)
its hard to find iron ore (someone told me you jsut need to mine stone?!, you are suppose to figure that out?!
Again its pretty hard to keep track of your conditions
sort of wierd that some can be mined by left click while some needs to be attacked....

But some Points:
