I'm just about to finish school, and I'm looking to buy a game that will last for a long time. Obviously I'm a blizzard fan so I'll grab HotS and D3 when they come out. But both of them are probably not coming out this summer. I was looking at getting LA Noire but now I'm leaning more towards Red Dead Redemption, because it's more actiony and has quite a lot of stuff to do. Anyways....What games are you guys going to grab for the summer? Is there anybody who owns Red Dead Redemption or LA Noire? What do you think about it?
Portal 2, Mass Effect 2, Assassin's Creed 2 + Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. If there's any games in that little list you haven't played, picking up any of them will keep you busy for a bit.
Well yeah, but Mass Effect isn't a 'shooter'... It's basically a... 'life emulator'? It's beyond simple 'role playing' if you ask me. You play that for the lore and story, definitely not for the FPS mechanics in there.
I played in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. This is a masterpiece that should pass. About 40 hours of storyline and about 100 hours with the side quests. I recommend!
Just wondering, Ever completed Diablo 2:LoD on Hardcore mode?
I dare not play hardcore >_> I've had my character die because of careless mistakes and plain unluckiness before. For example, when you walk in a dungeon and you're welcomed by 2 unique monsters. Both of which can stack atop each other and attack at a range respectively. Few times I underestimated the enemy as well, holed myself up in a little corner thinking lifesteal was good enough, but to my dismay next thing i know and my belt is empty, and I'm dead before I can tp.
I do however play on 8 player difficulty. Which can be pretty insane.. You can almost hit level 50 in normal mode alone.
If you have a PS3 I would recommend Dead Nation and Wipeout HD as they are free as a thanks to all the owners for bearing the burden of no online. I would also recommend Marvel vs Capcom 3 as that can always last a while.
Dragon age 1,2. 2 is new, and i havent touched 2 but 1 seems to take a bit of time. its a rpg. kinda oldish time settings.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. is not really new. good time sync. rpg. has an expansion and can find some interesting mods later on. large world to explore.
Machinarium. not much of a time sync but fun nonetheless. is a puzzle platformer(i think platformer is the term)
trackmania nations. not much of a time sync. racing kinda game with a bit of navigating of crazy courses. intense trying to get nadeo medals.
stepmania. using keyboard with some pretty entertaining music/amv in background is entertaining.
league of legends. good on own but better with friends. tug of war kinda thing(dota) or whatever.
minecraft. time sync but boring without friends and legitimate playing dies off after a while :S
worms. fun and ye whatever you can probs find many more on some recommend me a game forums and giving a genre or setting
enjoy your summer cos i know ima be trying to map make more and play dragon age 1 and diablo 2 in my uni holiday atm :)
I own a ps3, wii and xbox 360 but I'd rather get it for the xbox 360, because that's where all my friends are (nobody else has a ps3 so I'd be all by myself )
Anybody here own red dead or la noire? I'd love to hear your opinions on them. I'm really trying to decide between them.
Hey guys :D

Mass Effect 2 was the only one I haven't grabbed yet but....I've had enough sci fi shooters for now =/ All of them are great games though...

How about Pokémon White/Black? :D
@Mozared: Go
I vowed to never buy a pokemon game ever again. They just keep releasing the same game with a new name and shinier graphics.... lol

I don't own Diablo 2, actually. =/ The only 2d games from blizzard I own are starcraft 1 & brood war.

Portal 2. Without a doubt.
On another note, 100th post. Woot!
@Snappybean: Go
Like I said, I already bought and beat portal 2. It was fun but kind of short.
Happy 100th post
@zeldarules28: Go
Ah. Silly me. Fell into the TL;DR trap. Apologies.
d2 is a recommended good time wasting fun.
are you after epicly awesome old games or just epicly awesome new games?
Modern (ish) titles. Like red dead redemption- it's not the newest thing ever but it's not exactly old, and it's supposed to be very good.
I've been playing Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and Suikoden V. They've consumed about 50 hours (combined) of my time thus far.
Those aren't quite "modern", however.
I played in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. This is a masterpiece that should pass. About 40 hours of storyline and about 100 hours with the side quests. I recommend!
