I never played the older elders scroll games so Im not sure should I get this...It does lookg so good and since many people seem to hype it so Im kinda tempted to get it. I just like giants, mammoths, dragons and dual wielding spells seems fun too!
I havent gotten any other game since sc2 so perhaps it would be good to get off from the rubbish bnet until they fix it.
Oh and since I heard you can do anything you want in the game, what would you do? I would be a mage and kill dragons I guess :/
Skyrim is absolute something worth looking into :) I myself love the Fallout series and Elder Scrolls Oblivion, and from what it seems Skyrim is going to be one awesome game! Already pre-ordered it for PC :P
I'm definitely anticipating Skyrim, also already have it pre-ordered...it was one of the main reasons I built a new gaming rig.
My first character would most likely be a daggers stealth-type character.
I'm not that excited. I'm more excited a year away from skyrim, just so I can see what mods come out. Basically what I've seen from skyrim so far is basically my oblivion that I've put 1264 hours into. Sure it's small but I'm casual player
xD, I started the video and heard something like: "...and in the distance you can see the city of White-Ra" :D
It looks pretty awesome indeed, at least the landscape and the effects. However, the animations didn't look all that good to me; something about them disturbed me. Couldn't really point my finger on it, though.
Loved Oblivion, havent played the previous ones.
I'd probably go for a stealth guy first, bow and sword focused. I hope they have something like the dark brotherhood again.
Second character I'd make would probably be a mage/battlemage (warrior mage combo, leaning more on mage)
Can't wait for the game... I really need a new comp though >.>
I'm pretty hyped about Skyrim even though it doesn't have much creativity in it but come on: dragons, Nords, axes and helmets with horns you gotta love it! That demo showed off some of the worst sides though: Getting pummeled by a giant increases Heavy armor, engulfed by flames merely a flesh wound and he didn't even block or did anything else then cast spells and attack with his weapon against the dragon.

Will probably play with some self-imposed restriction like "no armour" or something since I think I spoiled every previous TES game by ending with some godly character after like 20h of play.
Hopefully the storyline is a lot better than Oblivion's. Oblivion was nothing compared to Morrowind; I think a lot of it had to do with them changing to voice acting instead of just written dialog, which was a bad decision. Morrowind had so much more depth because you actually got to know the characters a little bit; Oblivion was like "Oh so you're the emperor... you sound like Boromir."
I'm excited about this, but I'm in a bit of a dilemma. On the one hand, mods and stuff are great, but my PC is a couple of years old now and I can't afford an upgrade - although I should still be able to run it even if the graphics aren't as amazing as they could be. On the other hand, I have a PS3 and would love a new game for it but I know I won't have access to mods. OH THE HUMANITY.
pff whats mass effect when you compare it to only the coolest RPG universe ever??
nah but seriously I played morrowind a LOT until world of warcraft came out (I know I know I have RPG issues) but then wow started to bore me and I spent all my time on oblivion... and then fallout 3... and starcraft... and now SKYRIM!!!11
@ basharteg I suggest you buy it for PC, extra memory doesn't have to cost that much unless you need to upgrade to windows 64 bit and if you want to play with a controller you can always just buy a wired xbox controller to use on ur pc for like 5 euro
if you need something like a new graphics card though... then ur indeed in quite a dilemma
Mass effect has more than a universe, though. Sure, that's well thought out and kick ass, but there's a pretty goddamn cool story in there in which you have just the right impact, along with a good choice of various playstyles to keep things interesting. Graphics are cool, but I want more than graphics in a game -- my time is limited =P.

I would probably need a new graphics card AND a new processor... so I might just get the PS3 version to keep things simple. I'm not sure how much I actually use mods anyway... except for cheating :P

Arena was cool. Daggerfall was awesome. Morrowind was awesome. Oblivion sucked. Skyrim ????

Only played Oblivion and it was hours of fun despite the several dozen hours of grinding needed to become uber.

Will probly get it next week since I was so late :/...good bye sc2? :D
I haven't played any of the Elder Scroll games... is this anywhere near as good as Mass Effect?
