... now, I can only play in 1024x768 (I think those are the right numbers?).
What happened was this: I had the EULA message popping up every time I logged in. I checked at the b.net SC2 Beta Technical Support, and found the solution: delete your SC2 Beta folder in your "My Documents" folder. I did that. And well, I could now enter the game without having to use the EULA, but I couldn't play in 1200x800 (which is my resolution) anymore.
What happened? I don't like how everything is a bit smaller now. :(
What happens when I try to go in to 1200x800 mode is that it behaves as if the the screen is cut-off on both sides, forcing it to show me only 1024x768.
Here's some screenies:
... errr.. nevermind. For some odd reason, the screenshot of the 1200x800 is NOT cut-off. I don't get it. Help?
I have tried that. It didn't work for some odd reason. :/ I've heard sometimes SC2 can mess up drivers... though I dunno how to fix that since I can't find the right drivers for my computer (I just tried, they didn't work).
Okay, some weird things did happen after I got the EULA issue fixed. First off, Starcraft II would not quit on me for about 15 minutes, and it was still on the screen showing me the Hyperion stuck in space. Anyway, I had to turn my computer off completely in order to get out of it. It was very bad (probably due to my low, low specs).
Also, one time I tried to quit out after the EULA fix, and the buttons on the main login screen all vanished, including all the fields, too! I had to use the task manager to force quit Starcraft II. It was pretty bad.
Windows XP over here. I have no idea what the bit is.
Edit: I got it fixed. Somehow, my computer runs it on 1280x800? Whatever. It works now! Someone on the beta forums suggested a higher res (not that one), and for whatever reason, it worked.

You can set them manually is Documents\Starcraft II Beta\Variables.txt.
