After asking a few people I've come to the conclusion that my editor runs MUCH slower than everyone else's. A completely blank map takes me 20 seconds to load up. My personal map I'm working on takes about 4 minutes to load while for other people it takes 20-30 seconds. Also, it takes me 5-7 seconds to switch between the data/trigger/terrain editor.... an extremely annoying slowdown when I'm working on something. Attached are my specs.
Anyone have a guess as to where I'm bottle-necking performance?
I used to have a similar setup to you; except for 32 GB of RAM. I upgraded my CPU to the newish AMD 8370e (8 cores, 4, or 4.2 GHZ, cant recall, too lazy to look) and saw a pretty good boost to speed. I then got a SSD, and saw another boost to speed.
I am pretty sure that, like most programs, the editor does not make good use of all the cores of a processor; so intel processors with fewer, more powerful cores, often come out on top here.
That said, compared to what I had (being almost identical to you) your numbers still look noticeably slower than what I had. Have you tried to use a program to boost your performance settings? I use advanced system care; which not only works as virus protection, ect, but can optomize system settings, and scan for stuff that may be slowing down your computer. It also has a "gaming mode" button, which closes everything not related to gaming, for that extra boost.

Well, you'd probably see some improvement if you did that (not to mention find using your computer more enjoyable).
@Bilxor: Go
I had a similar computer before and yes, everything was slow. The CPU exploded and my new computer run lot better the editor now
