I'm relatively new to this particular site, but I'm very excited about the possibilites of Starcraft 2 and the progress that the site as a whole has made with the Galaxy Editor. I really appreciate the community that sc2mapster.com has founded.
That being said, I've played a lot of games that programmers have put out that had quality engines, triggers, the works. However, what I felt they were missing that would really put them over the top and make them an amazing Starcraft 2 Map is the terrain, story, and polishing.
Personally, there's nothing I find more rewarding in Galaxy Editor than setting a camera up, fiddling around, and making the perfect scene in front of that camera. I'd like to extend my passion and start focusing on a collaboration with a programmer who's familiar with the triggers (it's almost all Latin to me, I know lights and the basics. I have experience in MS Basic, so I know my way around an if-then) and would be willing to grow with me as a team. I'd like to think I come up with pretty good stories, and am very willing to listen to ideas. I also enjoy polishing maps; making the dialogue enjoyable, maximizing play-experience enjoyability, and most of all correcting all spelling errors and inconsistencies.
I work well with others; I've been a guild officer in several WoW guilds, all of which I've came away from with friendships that I still maintain over facebook with people I've never met face to face. I'm fairly intelligent and very motivated. I'm also willing to use Ventrilo and am available most nights during the week. Also, it should be known that I'm a nighthawk, and the majority of my best work is done past 11:00 pm ET (although I'm willing to work before then.)
If you're interested in my mapping style, I've posted 2 scenes that I slapped together tonight when I came up with this idea (2 hours.) If you want more, just PM me or post in this thread. I'll probably post some more later that are a little more professional, especially when I've finished this map.
2. Maturity (Which is almost a given with laid-back programmers)
3. Friendliness
4. Willing to Give Advice/Recieve Advice
5. Great Communication Skills/Ability to Compromise
Together I'd hope to put solid maps out that cover a variety of styles, themes, and storylines through an efficient system of parallel trigger and terrain development.
Let me know know what you think and if you are interested. We will have 3 maps total for the game that will need terrain work with different custom tilesets.
I'm a fan of the FF series and working on this would give me some great experience, as eventually I'd like to be one of the best terrain artists. I haven't played XIII, but I'm sure I can mimic screenshots and world maps. Just let me know what you want me to do.
