Hey everyone, my map Infection got popular... but in a lot of games I played of it, people say they like it or it's awesome, but then say it's missing something. Or, survivors just camp and say it's too easy; meanwhile the Infected are just playing crappy and aren't utilizing their class options properly... I have two pools of people it would seem... ones who know exactly what's going on and love it, and the others who are clueless and saying "this is gay".
Today in a game somebody suggested it needs a better introduction. I can see this being valid... but I'm just wondering if anyone has simple/good suggestions to make Infection better...
Intro cinematic? Tips? No one seems to read the loading screen, so yeah...
I'm taking a wild guess but I'd assume it's a survivor type game based on the old 'The Thing' maps. One guy is secretly evil and has to kill the other guys before time runs out without being killed himself.
Do a better intro & make a -help command or tips as the game progresses. That should help clear up any confusion on how to play it.
I've played it and I have to say that I really like it. The environments and gameplay are both as smooth as can be, but my only balance issue that I see is that the survivors do have a bigger ability to camp and win the game. I think if you simply gave the Infected a way to see the survivors ahead of time, like the sensor tower effect, they could form better ambushes, making the playing field a bit more even.
Also, most of the time I find that by the time I reach the higher level of Infected, the game is almost over. Make the games last maybe a minute or two longer, so there's a bit more of higher level play. That's all the advice I can think of. Good luck, and I hope this was helpful!

Any feedback is welcome.
How is the game played may I ask?

@trigger863: Go
Haha thanks! Not sure that anyone played this anymore... I've mostly moved on since it wasn't popular.
