Hi, first of all, i'm not sure if I post this in the correct section, so sorry if it's not in the right place. Anyway, I have this little problem : I exported an icon in .tga format, change its color a bit, then in imported it back in the editor, in .tga. I created a button and used that modified icon and it worked just fine... in the editor. In-game, the icon is ok, but it doesn't look like its a clickable button (i can still click it, since it's an ability) ! It looks like it's an icon for a passive ability. First, i thought it was maybe because it wasn't in .dds, so I converted it, but it didn't change anything :\ So, i'd like to know how can I make it so it looks clickable, like any other button.
@Anaxirax: Go The icons needs an alpha channel so it wont hide the button image. Checks the game's icons and get the alpha channel from one of them . A colored one, because the tinted ones use a different alpha system.
Would you be able to post a picture?
It usually depends on the size of the image and there needs to be an alpha layer i believe.
i can upload a template i use that might fix it.
The way i did it was i could set the icon size to say 72x72 then put the 64x64 image into it and then it leaves a black or blank border around the image this will allow the SC2 game to add the button border over it.
I just made one file that i copy and paste my icons onto it works awesome once you figure it out once.
@zaysite: Go Although your system works, the game icons use a 76x76 file with a 68x68 image inside it, which allows a better quality. But it doesn't simply use the 68x68 size to define the borders, it uses an alpha channel with a subtle gradient near the borders that makes the icon blend with the button image.
So I highly recommend using the alpha channel used by the game icons in your files for the best result possible. Check the link in my signature and test some of my custom icons in game to see the effect. (I use DDS format).

@zaysite: Go
here's an image : (on the left, there's the original icon and on the right, the modified one)
By doing that I also noticed that even the original isn't a 100% like the others.
@SoulFilcher: Go
I'll take a look, thanks :D
:D
oh and SoulFilcher, your mod is awesome :D
@Anaxirax: Go glad you liked it :-)
