Hopefully it will be possible to mod it, I like how you can force place units in pits, but the controls on them get funky (any terran building launches up crazy fast when you lift it off)
With the 3d terrain you should have the ability to add quite a lot of more levels of elevation. With clever use of no walk zones and triggers you could add a lot of cliffs.
Btw there are 5 levels, 2 down and 2 up + the normal.
4 levels. One normal, two up, one down. The down one gets messy when you put units in it, it's mainly useful for canyons and lakes. The limit is especially obvious if you're doing an indoor map and it would be handy to have extra cliffs elsewhere (like creating a cliff-placed fortress). Nothing that pathing couldn't solve, it's just annoying.
I supposed melee maps would only work with 3 levels: pit, normal, cliff1, cliff 2. Fine, no problem.
But I definitely didn't expect that rule to be general.
Please, tell me there's a way to have more than the 3 levels of cliffs.
If not, my siege map project just got owned :(.

But those "cliffs" wouldn't effect visibility, unless you added those advisability (smoke or tall weeds) blockers.
I don't know, if it has been designed specifically like that...
It's the "pit" that worries me, and the way the cliff layout has been designed around it.
Whatever, I don't understand why they didn't let us have some more cliff levels, I consider 6-8 the minimum level, and we only have 2 :(.
No way I'm gonna be able to make stair-style fortresses, and no way a lot of maps where there's high elevation will work.
Think you can set up the cliff level there

and maybe add new cliffs
Thanks, didn't see that, but...
I can't add new heights, and the editor doesn't seem to change anything when I edit the existing fields :(.

@vjeux: Go
I only have 1 one down, and you "can't" place units in it :S.

(I didnt feel like making a new topic when this topic fits it perfectly):
Im kinda wondering why they would only allow that few levels.
I think it is because of beta, well I hope it is.
