I am just getting started in SC2 map editing, and I am stumped by my current issue.
I am editing the Blizzard melee map Lava Flow to make it a 2v2 map with the start locations on the islands with the rest of the "continental" map accessible only by air. I have removed all of the original start Locations and placed my new start locations on the islands (making sure that they are far enough back that the building graphic cycles through) but when I test the map, I still spawn randomly in one of the continental bases. Furthermore, at one point it spawned two AI players at the same base, pushing the second one out past the first. I have done a lot of searching, and I have gone over my settings repeatedly, yet I can't seem to figure out why it is doing this. Does anyone have a tip?
Well one thing you could try if your not too picky of how close a building is to the minerals and the building will spawn EXACTLY on the point. Then what you could do is simply go to the Unit(Builder and Town Hall) in the data editor and under flags hit ignore Placement. I believe this is what I did for my map and it worked perfectly.
Well, I ended up re-loading the page after having closed the editor, and it appears it just didn't save correctly. Weird glitch, but it is working now. Thanks anyway.
