Hey yall! Who feels like making some snow themed units? They can be anything. I'll Give an example, PM me if your interested. I'll post more later if I remember. I'll need other things for the map I' working on soon, this is just one i wanna post ASAP cause I cant do it very well.
EXAMPLE UNITs:
Freezer! (Firebat)
Shoots Ice
Has a chance of freezing units it attacks for a few seconds (can be upgraded)
Snowball Trooper (Marine)
Throws snowballs that deal moderate damage vs. units
Iceicle (Seidge Tank)
Shoots Ice, strong vs buildings, deals AOE

Ignore the whole development thing. So "What do you think of a map where the resources is snow you collect from the ground, and is stored in units as energy."

Bleh, Made a video, then realized that the "better" system i implanted for finding the nearest creep checked in an XY box instead of the appropriate circle : )
Great, goodbye system that perfectly checked every point....but in a box : (
Anyone wanna help make a better system for checking for the closest creep to a point? Before i had point with offset, but that missed spots : ( In addition it was much laggyer
Just out of curiousity, I see that you have an interesting idea, but how do you plan to actually use it? What is the point of this map, is it just a creative new resouce system, or is it an actual game?

Shall I make a video on the building system? Naw I'll just explain. This is how buildings work with this system:
Engineer units can build structures as well as transfer snow as they wish. When a structure is first built (for free) the construction just stays at zero untill the building has enough "snow" transfered too it. (The scv that's building makes no progress until the building has full energy, where it is then reset and the building can be build.) Once built, the building requires snow to do stuff. Buildings get snow through the engineers snow transfer ability.
Two "Cool, can I help?" Votes in the poll, yet no offers to help : { OH CRAP I have a cinematic video I'm supposed to be making, time to take a break from this.
I love the idea for this. Creating unique gameplay is always fun. Just make sure it get's finished...I've seen so many good projects but never finished good projects. Keep at it.

Starcraft2 mapping is an art. It is inspired by the soul and crafted from within and brought out, but not all artists have the skills to create it, which is why I need data/trigger editors. Come find me if you want to be part of something great.
Make it a 1 vs 1 map. Collecting snow would allow you to make a small army.
So you could kill their workers, and defend yours.
The goal would be to kill a building in a players base.
Something like that should get you thinking I guess :)

This does sound like an interesting idea and I will be impressed if you pull it off successfully.
I assume that the map will be using the snowy tileset, right?

It uses recolored creep for snow, and under that metropolis whatever.
Not using snowy tileset, cause then the ground would be all white, rather then just where the snow is.

The problem with this map is that its all based on triggers- their are things I need to redo with data, and I don't feel like doing that.
