I was told by a guy at Gamestop that it releases on December 31. What do you think? I think it looks way better than the DS series. Then again, I'm not a huge Nintendo fan. I like Sony products more.
Reasons for that are simple:
1. Why do we need such devices, when we already have Iphones and Ipads?
2. "Portative" gaming isn't so interesting. Deus Ex, Battlefield 3, Rage, Starcraft 2, Prey 2 and so on... They all are unportable to portative devices :) No majour gaming (or competitive) can be made on those portatives.
3. To expensive to pay for games. (not sure about this point, though).
Yeah, the graphics are really good. But just that doesn't cut it. More games will be released, but I can't imagine games like ME3 on Vita.
But if don't own smartphone, then it's a good choice ;) And yet, as I think, gaming expirience won't be the same as on PC (for example).
Well true. If there will be games like Need for Speed then it might be interesting. I did hear that they were making a Vita Black Ops though. The poijnt isn't to get the full experience either. The point is to be able to play games without bringing a $1500, 6 pound, computer with you to do it. With all these tablets though I fear the gaming laptop's days are numbered....
meh, iphones and ipads will beat out the vita. You can't even play high end games on the vita so what's the point? Sony screwed up too hard to overcome the failure that was the PSP.
btw how can you like portables when you hate on tablets? Portables are just as bad.
I would like to explain, but I don't feel I can justify my feelings on that. For starters a portable is designed for gaming while a tablet is designed for checking emails and light research and such. Sure it is powerful enough to play games, but it isn't a purpose designed gaming machine. Plus I just don't see how you can play games with no buttons and tablets have no buttons. My experience is that a keyboard is much more reliable than a screen you use your fingers on. Also the screen can get smeared with finger grease so it ruins the look of the graphics if they are decent. At least with the PSP Vita the part you touch is on the back. My favorite is always going to be the laptop for portable things though.
Reaper, how many people do you want to disagree with you? This is the second thread I've seen that has a dislikable electronic item that you are telling everyone is good. But thanks for putting them up, I have a friend who likes this kind of stuff and I'm using your threads to tell him that he shouldn't buy it. :D
Also, click the fourth little dot (or wait awhile for the images to change) on the display thingy that shows all of the features. The screen is in fact a touch screen.
I decided they weren't good either, lol. I was just saying that they were out there. I like Razer products but that's just too expensive for what it is. I was checking their website and it just came up one day. Besides can't we let these threads die already? I made them a long time ago and I changed my mind on a lot of things
You know you want one. I do.

Meh...

meh? What isn't "meh" to you Varine
Also meh.

A) I don't own a smartphone
B) more will be released if it's popular enough, Sony also does have decent online ability
C) it was between this and the M14X for portable gaming. Would you rather buy a $250 hand help or a $1400 gaming laptop?
D) it has GPS, a microphone, and a camera in it and the graphics are supposedly as good as the PS3.

I don't really find it interesting as well. I already own a high-end Android, that's far enough for my mobile gaming needs.
If it has a good enough game selection, it might be the first hand-held console that I buy.
Otherwise, I'll ignore it like all the previous ones.

I'd say that the Vita is going to be really good for gaming, but not nearly as much for anything else like the psp was.
Since most people would rather just carry around one portable thing, not many people will get it though..

Actually, the PS Vita's screen is a touchscreen :\

I thought the screen was on the back and it had a regular screen?

It has a touchpad on the back, and a touchscreen on the front.
