Hello, Sc2mapster! I am, like most people here, an old WE user. I never really published something, it was mostly just a hobby. But now, with the introduction of GE, i am going to train, learn and hopefully master this wonderful tool.
I am mostly interested in working with the data editor so far, but i heard triggers were almost the same so that should be easy ;)
I hope to start modding right away and probably participate in future WDE's.
Also; i am horrible at melee but im starting to get a feel of how it works :)
I actually was lurking around yesterdays stream, and it looked like a lot of fun :)
Ideas are floating around my head right now, the editor is WAY better than i expected, and i hope to finish up some of my 1st time testing later today.
I think I remember you saying something in the chat of yesterdays map night :) Thanks for watching! If you're on the EU, feel free to join in next week!
Also, as Mozared said, watch sc2streamster, it has a lot of info for newbs and shows how to do a lot of things, plus an awesome podcast every sunday (Mapcraft) with the Extremely European Mozared, heavily accented british Eiviyn, the Eastern European Almaity, some random guest, and usually Sixen as well. (The european/accented stuff is a sort of inside joke... Watch the first 30 minutes of last weeks mapcraft to understand)
also, as a welcome gift, i give you the permission to buy us all a round of drinks!
And yea, if you need anything, PM me or any of the mods. Mozared is the terrain guy, DrSuperEvil, TacoManStan and I can answer most data questions, and I don't check the trigger forums too much to see who's good around there.
Also, there's a link to the wiki on top of the page, you can have a look at that.
And there's also a "Mapster Mentoring" thread, in the general forums I believe, where you can find a long list of very nice people willing to help people new to the editor =D
moderators even allow batshit crazy posters (well mapmaking non stupid or offensive batshit crazy) ;)
ooo and promise TheAlmighty some cake (he loves it), troll Mephs as much as u can (its good sportsmanship), troll Vexal as much as u like (he deserves nothing less than your best), learn british thanks to Eiviyn, mind the mighty Kuoken feathers or praise the prose of mapster's muze... but most important: careful not to slip on rodrigo's bananas or you'll get on his debates before you even realize it :)
ooo and don't mind me, i'm too old for this (gotta feed the kid so he can use galaxy soon), but i love funsies and mapster is definitely the place to be on for that (and amazing galaxies to boot) ;^p
