What are your moments of succes in SC2 editor? I just had my greatest moment when I understand how to do custom units easily. I spent many hours to understand this and I'm was so hopeless sometimes that I'm was ready to quit whole thing and use only non-customed units. I laughed insanely when my firebat hero was shooting with flamethrower with sounds and animation. I also raised his damage to 1000 for sometime and killed lot of zergs :D That was just great! :)
I had lots of moments like that... The latest was when I figured how to actually do shooting patterns using a periodic effect. Actually, each new step in understanding the data editor and all its possibilities makes me enjoy it even more. I was almost ready to give up using data, until I found a way to make customised unit+weapon. Being able to create shooting patterns (and understanding how actors are linked together, in the process) is probably what is going to change the way I make my maps.
I'm used to have lots of triggers in my maps because it was how the WC3/FT editor worked in most cases. I still enjoy doing silly stuff with triggers though... It may be obvious to some of you but I never used any switch or arrays in the WC3 editor. When I discovered these functions in the SC2 editor, I felt like I was given a new toy to play with... :D
Something really cool about the SC2 editor is, each time I learn something new, a new idea of map using this feature comes to my mind. I was getting bored of elves/orcs/undeads in WC3, especially since most of the time the only maps created were DotA or TDs (seriously this is getting boring now, stop doing these in SC2... please!)... I really enjoy how far this new editor can go, so I enjoy most of the time I spend on it.
Same as Zealnaga - every time i learn something new, im happy. Cant wait to learn how to use actors properly and do some badass spell effects :p
And yea, best discovery ever was learning how to use persistent effects. After that, i basically knew everything :)
in the wc3 editor my best discovery was probably variable arrays, lol. After i started using them there i was so happy. And with sc2 triggers, finding out what Loops were for together with arrays made me so happy i just felt like triggering for days, but didn't have any triggers to do >.>
Hm... moments of success... I can list a whole bunch of frustrating moments :D (when I first tried the editor back in the beta, I tried about 3 hours, got frustrated and ignored the editor for about 2 month ;))
Every single bloody time I get a beam actor to work.
I swear I've got 12 beams here and I've spent about 3 hours on each. Some are easy but most of them seem to just want completely arbitrary values to be inputted before they'll even think about working.

A nice moment to have is playing a full, flawless round on your map without any incidents after a long bugkilling session.
Not topic related but...
The timestamps.
Sanastro, poster from the future?
When I found the file StarCraft II Editor.exe
What else?
