Cheers!
I got paid on friday so I bought it on sunday, had a little issues with my currency but already have my account being standard hots. yay.
I got GTA IV a while ago, I don't know, I have mixed feelings about it. It was on sale on steam and it costed me like 5 bucks so I didn't spend much but I think it's one of those games that it's just better in a console. I remember enjoying san andreas and both of vice city so much on ps2 but the controls for the PC version of GTA are just impossible for me. I literally modded the hell out of it so I could use a crappy usb controller. And even that way it's still a bitch cause I cannot properly use guns while driving or aim while walking...
Still, I like it and don't know if I should get GTA V, I definitely will not if it's got the same issue as GTA IV for me or maybe in two years time when it's 5 bucks on steam :P
Out of curiosity, Why is the total different than the purchase ammount?
I never preorder games but this is sort of an exception- I kinda need this one to do my job here ^.^ I should probably get around to buying it :P
You know, I find it really weird, but is there a reason not to pre order games?
You ARE getting it either way, right? Be it after its release or before. Or is it more of a "I'm still undecided" kind of thing?
I just find it really weird why some people say they don't pre order things, it's just likc buying a concert ticket, sure you could probably buy it at the same day of the event but isn't it just nicer to already have the safety of having your ticket now?

I'm getting this either way, because It's important for me to have for sc2mapster. But like I said, it's the exception- otherwise, I definitely don't usually "commit" to games before release. Take the recent Aliens game. Everybody thought it was going to be fantastic, it was on the top of steam's pre-orders, but then it ended up being absolutely terrible. With digital games there's pretty much no reason to pre-order (since they won't be running out supply) unless there's some huge bonus for it, but usually there isn't. But yeah, if you're so into a game that you're "for sure" going to buy it, then you might as well pre-order.

I didn't decide, yet, if I want to have a hardcopy from a store which might have a better price or if I support Blizzard and buy it directly on Battle.net close to midnight...
On WoL release I got it very cheap at a store compared to bnet's price.

I am probably the only one that thinks $40 is a rip off for this expansion. A campaign(with fewer levels than WoL) and throw in some new crappy gimmick units for the multiplayer, Meh.

says the same guy who payed 30$ for a single act and praised it as the holy grail -_-.
Edit: also HoTS has 26-29 missions, WoL had 24 ? I think, So HoTS is fine. Plus there were be many new assets, and a few new things with the leveling system such as Unit skins for your farm and first fighter.
I don't like Blizzard's price policy at all for their last 3-4 releases, but I'll still buy it. Maybe digitally, maybe hardcopy, I'll decide in a couple of weeks.

Diablo 2 is nothing without LoD. Same goes for the previous Blizzard games. Apart from the campaign in HoTs(which is not even hard to do for the company or revolutionary in anyway), I dont see the greed behind $40.
Oooh we have more archievments and icons and silly skins to unlock, yaaaaay!!
Also Tainted, I think you would be buying the game using your mom's credit card or something(I could be wrong..). Just a wild guess, but in such a case money is no consideration for a game or expansion no matter the details in-between. Objectively speaking.

and this is why I dont talk to you... you get butthurt and start insulting...
BTW, hots gives an entire new UI, and Physics engine...
WoL had approx 28 missions, I believe, and HotS will have 20...
That was revealed a long time ago and was datamined after the current WoL patch presetend by Existor on teamliquid.net...
It has multiple story spoilers, so I stop talking about it. :D

I did not insult you. Most kids will get it off their mom's credit card, and so they dont care about the cost. I only assume your age is in that proximity and thats the whole scenario here for the reasoning if the price is worth it or not. The fact you dont even know or care how many missions you're getting in the campaign, tells a story.
A funny thing is, I dont even get slightly offended by what you say.
Almost forgot. Rag doll physics engine in the year 2013....yaaaay!!!!

Dustin said something along the lines there would be 20 mandatory missions and then the final 6 or so end missions.
Eitherway the single player campaign is merely a bonus to me, I like the multiplayer melee, eventhough I suck at it I find it really fun to play 2s or 3s with a couple of friends.

I actually agree with you, though that's assuming the EU price is also 40 euro's - it might be 30-35 euro's, which is what I would expect. When you think of it, all HOTS really is is a really high-end custom campaign that we, here on mapster, literally could've made if we had bothered to get all our storywriters, modelers, coders and mappers together, minus the high-quality CGI videos (and even those we might've been able to replicate). Part of this can be explained away by the fact that this is mostly because the editor is so incredibly advanced, but on the other hand... HOTS isn't a full new game like WoL, and shouldn't be priced in such a similar fashion.
The new patch made me excited to get HotS (plus I just got paid and Im returning something I bought from Ross) therefore I have money to spend.
I bought mine a month ago I bought it with GTA V.... and then GTA V was put on hold till september -_-....

it is funny because like 3 years ago i told sixen the very same thing. that expansions really would just be more data and a few new models :p
