Today I came to the conclusion that since I've installed windows 8 I have not had any tooltips show up for anything inside the editor. I'm not sure if this is due to Windows 8 or if it was like this before hand. Anyone got any ideas?
Edit: Should probably be moved to the bugs section.
For me, it's only the data module that has no tooltips. Trigger module has and I never noticed tooltips in any other module. :D
The tooltips for the fields only appear in popup windows when you try to edit the field values. Move the mouse over the checboxes or their underlined titles to see it, if a tooltip exists.
I'm using Win8. I don't understand why people hate it THAT much...
Man, I boot so much faster with win8, with a program I installed today I have a start menu button, don't see the horrible tiles at startup. Win8 has a nicer copy pasting UI, if you execute multiple operations at once. Win7 had mutliple windows then, win8 has one combining all info.
If I won't find problems with the program that I installed that fixes the problems of win8, I think I might have a superior OS regarding win7. But this is not a win8 arguing thread, so build your own educated opinion.
Well I figured out that opening the data field gives the tooltip. As for the minimalistic amount of tooltips blizzard is actually working on adding more as we speak.
I agree. I also have Windows 8 on my laptop. Going through the editor is a little bit faster and now my fan is not running too high. You can have the same experience by just booting to Desktop and install a Start Menu plugin (I use Pokki)
I don't really want to reinstall it at the moment, but I'll leave it on the board. Anyway the workaround I listed above works well enough for me and its not a HUGE pain.

Your computer has been infested. This new clever infestation spreads in form of Windows 8 and causes more headaches than it's leading competitor by the SAME COMPANY called Windows 7 (which is best Microsoft's Windows out there.)
i don't know why you are complaining about windows 8 Clord, is it the fact that you're not throwing all of your money at Microsft to get this operating system, or the fact you have to spend 5 dollars -_- for an app to get the start button. When the OS costs $30 to get, $5 don't really matter. You could go back to win 7 and spend over 150 to get the same shit.
No offense but the grammar in that sentence makes it so difficult to understand it hurts. Not only do you have several double negatives you could also really use some of periods.
You have to teach me with that thing called Win 8. When I have my new notebook with Win 8. As far as I heard, Win 8 is soo not for gamers. Too bad, I will miss the awesomeness of Win 7, also the AlienGuise Alien Breed skin that went with it on my soon-to-go-to-scrap Alienware M17, I used it and Win 8 has no Aw skins..
Are you using Table view? I come from War3 and I still prefer the Details view - it may not have these problems, I am kind of used to it since the waely use of SC2.

The bug isnt the editor, its the fact you installed that turd :P :))
But seriously only about 30% and thats being generous of the editor actually has tooltips, so double check, everything that does is obvious shit :P
Why would anyone install windows 8?

Data module has tons of tooltips :P they are just on the simple things. you have to hold the mouse on it for 1-2 seconds to see the tooltip though.

Which app is that? Cause I miss the start button.
@JacktheArcher: Go There are a ton of programs that add a start menu back. I use Classic Shell.

Back on topic: How about reinstalling sc2 and then deleting your cache folder?

Data Editor tooltips for Windows 8 should be fixed in 2.0

My life is still perfect with windows XP
@Clord: Go
I actually really like 8. It's waaay faster. I got it free though otherwise I'd still be on 7.UI
@SoulFilcher: Go
Lol how? Xp was the worst for me.
8 with classic shell is just a cleaner looking windows 7.
However I have no issues with tooltips so try the repair tool after deleting your cache (which seems to be like 99% of problems for me at the moment).
I do know that many parts do not have tooltips but it should have some.
@Rileyb80: Go
They fixed it with the most recent patch XD

Do you have tooltips stay visible now, too? They stay visible for me when I move the mouse off the field before they were fully loaded...
@Ahli634: Go
No mine disappear after I move the mouse. In data that is.
