Well with all the massive amounts of rumors coming around about the next generation of consoles, and even though a lot of us are PC gamers, (not me I dont pick one platform) What would you like to see for the next generation of consoles. heres a few things I would like to see.
1. Gameplay Recordings - The ability to record any gameplay and auto upload it to youtube, or any video site that can be viewed from a computer. In any quality depending on your internet.
2. All platforms on Blu-Ray- Yes i want the next playstation AND Xbox on blu-ray, lets be honest it holds 50 Gigs, I hate this 2 disc xbox shit. :P
3. Mod-ability, The ability to mod a game as you would do with a computer, either allowing us to download mod tools through our computer and importing them into the system, or allowing mouse and keyboard support so we can mod on the console with our mouse and keyboard lets be honest Mouse + Keyboard is superior in many ways for modifying anything.
4. No more of this motion shit... Six axis was okay when used correctly, but the kinect, ps move, and the wii were all bull shit. Unfortunately nintendo didnt do anything but add a tablet, add HD....
5. NO MORE ONLINE FUCKING PASSES - Yeah this speaks for itself, lets also throw away on disc dlc....
6. Remove Online Passes, and Add a new type of monetization, These new systems should be able to handle Commercials in loadingscreens, Picture ones anyways, (no videos please), I would be okay if you have a quick loading screen with an ad, that would be fine, but lessen the cost of dlc and remove online passes.
7. a stronger web browser, the PS3, XBOX and Wii Web Browser fucking sucks it cant play MANY sites shit.

That's not gonna happen because Blue-Ray is slow. Flash drivers will be the best choice. Cheap versions of a 80 gb flash drive read-only. We will be back to the old cartridge.

Games are still sold on disc because its cheap not some other scam as you say. Granted solid state memory has gotten very inexpensive of last but still nothing near to the pennies it costs for a disk. And by the way all ds games are on sd not disk. Besides some of it depending where you are, since in some places you will alway need to a have available a physical copy of the product being sold as its the law.
"Apparently" (in other words, take it with a grain of salt) the next xbox will have Blu-Ray capability. Nintendo's still playing catchup though, so don't expect anything Blu-Ray from them anytime soon.
Not going to happen. Seeing as how devs are already tightening their grip on modding (see BF3/C&C), along with DLCs becoming ever more commonplace, modding on consoles is going to be restricted to (illegal) hacks and other stuff only.
As long as the ads don't become intrusive to the point where they get shoved in your face, I don't really see a problem with this. Would be another way to pay for multiplayer server costs too.
Current gen was terrible. Most of the games look like crap. 420p games upscaled... Like, Tekken 6, and TTT2 look like Ps2 graphics(and most other games).
Most fun Ive had on the console was probably in the days of PS2

GET THOSE FUCKING 3RD WORLD COUNTRIES OFF THE USA SERVERS!!!!, they make EVERY game lag like hell, and for some reason on the 360 they are given priority to host.... They lag out everyone, they have broken the Gears 3 servers, and you have a damn host migration every 5 seconds do to their 56k internet....
I am sorry... but can we split those regions back up... they are breaking the games, i cant play hardly anything online anymore since EA and Activision, and a few others pulled all the mexicans onto the same servers.... hell starcraft does the same thing when I get a mexican in game, it just lags like hell... same for League... i know they want to play, but dammit... it is killing any experience of the game and just making the 7$ wasted....(its only 7$ i know... but still)
its not their fault, but their internet sucks way too bad to be on these games when their internet is still mesured in double or triple digit Kilobytes per seconds.
Okay to be fair, Its not just mexicans, that do it, its southern americans and any third world country.... but mexicans are the majority right now :P.
I enjoy this generation, I think some of the games look amazing(The Witcher 2, Skyrim, Batman), Then there are others that you can tell are low def(Mass Effect 3, CoD, Street Fighter). I think thats more of the company saying."Dont Need it" lol, I really miss cheats this generation too, very few games have them anymore and thats disappointing, they double the replay-ability I wouldn't have played Spider-man game for so long if I couldnt have cheated in Green Goblin and then Unlimited energy to do the speed run attack haahahah. that was a good game the first spiderman movie game.
This gen has definatly been about Online play though, which I am pretty happy about, but now shady practices are being preformed, such as on disc DLC, and online passes.... Yeah i pay 7$ a month plus I buy a used game at 5$ cheaper just to have to pay 10$ for a freakin code to play something that the game says comes with the disc....... Isnt that bullshit
I'm sorry if this is slightly off-topic. I'm definitely not trying to come and express my pc fanboyism, but I have never understood the point of consoles.
All the points you mentioned are reasons I see to get a good PC instead of a console. Most people I know with a console has a computer anyway so the money spent on the console could be spent on a better PC instead for about the same cost.
No moddability, hard to record gameplay, bad web browser etc. With a PC you could do all of that much easier, not to mention the hardware would probably be better.
Again, I'm not trying to argue my point, just understand the other side of it :)

I've fallen out of the whole console scene, but it's always about what games me and my friends are interested in playing. If a system has all the bells and whistles but no software, I'm not going to buy it.
The Vita is a brilliantly designed system. Large screen, powerful system specs, touch capability on front and back, built in camera, connectivity to PS3 and the internet... but it has no games worth buying it for. I'd rather buy a 3DS because it'll have games I'd be interested in playing, not just ports of PS3 games which I can already play.
All I'd like to see are games worth playing, and frankly I'm more than satisfied with sticking to PC.
Now imagine you living in a 3rd world country and are crazy to play a game. I'm ok with dividing into regions or zones, but when you region-lock, this is segregation. It's just wrong.
