I'm planning to buy a laptop and i am not sure what to get. I will be using it mainly for school, but would like it to be able to run the Galaxy Editor. I would like it to have a small, but not tiny, screen and a battery life of at least 6 hours. The max price i can get is ~$900.

Judging from these lines, you're going to want to look in the 13-15 inch class, and you'll have to grab a laptop with an extremely good battery to make that 6 hours. I'd recommend an I5 core for running the Galaxy Editor, unless you're a terrainer (and need to run the GE in max graphical settings) and have some additional money to spare, which is when you'll want to grab an I7 (expensive as hell, though).
Things to note;
-You might end up with a shorter battery life than you expected. 3-5 hours is kind of average for all non-netbook laptops. 6 hours is a lot for anything above 11 inch.
-If you want to do any sort of terraining in the GE, or even just scrolling in general, you'll need a mouse on the side simply because of the mouse wheel function.
Thank you for your replies, but i did alittle research of my own on newegg and tigerdirect and i found cheaper laptops. Sorry for not bring more clear but i am looking for the cheapest laptop that can run sc2 in low, thr performance doesn't need to be great. I still havent found a laptop yet, but okay laptops are around $300-600. Still would like some more suggestions
300-600 is what you're going to be finding the stuff in you want. Any higher than that is overpriced, any lower is cheap. As for more suggestions, I can at this point really only share my own experiences with brands; Acer tends to be cheap but bad in quality, Sony Vaio's are pretty much always a solid choice, Asus is a great hardware brand with sucky software (which doesn't matter if you do a clean install of your own, though), HP is overpriced like fuck and pretty much all other brands are "decent for money's worth".
Seems 'alright' to me. That's 300 euro's for an I3-equivalent with 2 gigs of ram and a 320 gigs HD. That's decent in terms of price-value, but keep in mind that and I3 with windows 7 and 2 gigs of ram will barely be able to run SC2. Putting graphics to lowest will help, but it'll probably still stall every once in a while. You won't be doing any serious mapping on that, but you should still be able to data/trigger edit fine, and do basic terraining stuff.
If you really don't mind sticking to an I3(-equivalent) I 'd still recommend you get yourself at least 4 gigs of ram, though. Playing SC2 on Windows 7 kind of requires that.

Pretty much any laptop under 900 dollars then.

There's an Alienware one for $999 if you can afford it. http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-m11x-r3/pd.aspx
And a cheaper one for around $900. http://www.dell.com/us/p/xps-l702x/fs
