I'm working on a similar map, which will have Hundreds of Random SFX and events, Large Explorable Map with a time limit + Score Board for Finding Documents and Photographing Unique things..
I'd love to see something with caves. They aint used much if at all and theres so many things you can do with 'em. Besides they fit horror theme easily
Yeah.. It's alot harder to create Cave systems though... But i hope i can do a good job with the Asylum, and then if all goes well, work on a similar game but maybe the underground cave system below the Asylum where all the bodies were moved through and kept in storage.. :evil:
I went with Asylum, stuff like that is generally a bit scarier because of the whole theme involved. A 'cave' can of course be scary, but it'll still be just that - a cave. With an Asylum, there's this backstory of twisted mentalities and horrors that have taken place there in days past, that makes the whole thing scarier. Same goes for Hospital and Prison, but I reckon all three of these themes are relatively close together.
Well, i've been working on an Asylum Exploration map, nighttime with flashlights... and i've decided to make it multiplayer with Fixed cameras... You basically go around, finding documents about the asylum, and each adds to each players score, and gets graded on theyre exploration.. But, there is a twist, something happens, all the lights go out, including your flashlight, you hear footsteps coming closer, you all get knocked out, and whats sounds like Dragging... You all wake up 3 hours earlier, in different parts of the Asylum.. Each with a set of clues to get out. When your trying to get out, you must still collect documents, to try and be top scorer on the leaderboard! Although there are no enemies, the game itself will be scary as hell, you don't know what's going to happen throught the Asylum! Only you can find out!

Depends though, Creating Multiplayer Horror is near-impossible..

Why is it near impossible? ;D
Due to the fact of trying to trigger scares, when multiple people run through it, and you cant FPS multiplayer :P
BTW - Here's a Teaser of the Asylum I'm creating.... Im creating the basic outline at the moment.. :)

Hospital for me. Since it looks rather easy to make separate rooms, thereby easier too scare people by region checking and whatnot.

Personally, im thinking i will need around 1000 Cameras..... This is merely a Quarter of the Asylum..

EDIT - Yes, this is on a 256x256 Map, and the top bit is an Outline at the moment..
It looks interesting. Are you attempting to use primarily in-game assets?
What do you meant by in-game assets?..
The standard SC-2 art/models etc.
