Hey everyone! I will be doing the Data Monday portion of the SC2Streamster cast. I have some ideas in mind, but I would like to take some time to ask what you would like to see done with ONLY data!
I will be posting a poll with a couple of ideas eventually, but I can't until I get some good input from you guys! Also, any ideas for Trigger Thursday would be fantastic too.
Alright so I have decided to post a couple of ideas of my own. (Don't forget, ALL DONE IN DATA)
1) Tug of War. Tug of War, but all in data. I would cover all aspects of Tug of War in this. (Just no dialogs or kill counters or anything, because that HAS to be done with triggers)
2) SCV Healing Fountain. I actually saw this in a thread a while back. I am going to modify the idea slightly. I would show you how to make a tower that spawns SCV's when a friendly healable unit comes within range. These SCV's will drain energy from the main tower to perform the healing. They will then return to the tower when there is nothing else to heal.
3) Void Rage. This is a unit I will be adding into my Tug of War game when I start working on it this summer. The idea is that 5 beams will be shot from the void ray instead of 1. These would either from blue red to red/blue as the rays get more powerful, or be colored based on the player's color.
4) Lord Revived. I would give Lord Diablo an attack and some awesome abilities. Maybe even some simple animation too, if I have time. (Think of some of the cool SmashCraft EX and ultimate abilities as an example, if you have played it, you know what I mean by awesome ability ;P)
Bumping this. Come on folks, give Stan some feedback - there must be someone out there who has an idea of which of these subjects would be coolest to see on Data Monday?
I'd like to see some crazy missiles, beams, melee or any other type of weaponry be squeezed to it's maximum to see what crazy things you can do with them
I would love an ammo system I love the one Notd:SO uses I think its all data. Any you can go as crazy as you want with it, adding pick ups that modify damage or change clip size, range, attack speed whatever. The more complex it is the more items I can make and add to my map series ;),

Are multiple-colored lasers doable? ex. 2 blue, 3 green? Or player-color based lasers, that would be awesome :]
If you guys wanted to gimme ideas for newbie Wednesday also, that would be good :D I'll probably be doing simple abilities on Wednesday but after that I need to brainstorm some more....
I will consider that for a later date, but that is a bit too complex for me to figure out with studying for finals this weekend.
Also, it appears we are at a 3-way tie! Make sure to to keep voting for your favorites, and remember that these will most likely all be done eventually no matter what.

Yes that is possible, but would take some time and use some weird tint manipulation. I will go over that. Also, each beam would be it's own actor so yes, each beam can be a different color.

This Monday: SCV Fountain
Next Monday: Tug of War
3rd Monday: Lord Diablo
4th Monday: Void Rage (As I will actually be making the unit for my game at that point)

Alright guys, I started working on the SCV fountain, and realized that it is a lot more complex than I anticipated. With finals being next week, I am going to have to go with something simpler.
I am going to do the Tug of War system tomorrow, as I already have done something like that before, so it requires less preparation.
It appears that I am not going to have time to set up the Tug of War system either. Instead I will be doing a general overview of the data editor, and a lot of Q&A. I will go over pretty much all the basic stuff that you need to know and what each section of the editor is used for.
