I honestly thought they would keep the updates to HOTS just of sake of being anoying...but I suppose it doesnt matter when you release it since the battle net witll be same with hots -_-.
And UI upgrades too!! Oooh I wana see a better UI for the editor.
I hope Ill get my inventory customization and image replacement with catalog set...I think those are my 2 wishes but I cannot see them getting granted...one can dream....
I can only guess that since BlizzDotA will use inventory (probably?) you will see updates for it. And I think image replacement is quite possible too ;D
I've been asking for a goddamn "open games list" since the first days of beta.
Thanks god.
Still, I'm not sure if it's too late. Blizzard did well to release this before HotS and the Marketplace (or Arcade or whatever it's named now) so the community starts to recover from their retarded and stupid decisions. But I'm not sure if most of the people that left have any chance of returning.
Let's hope the W3 custom map scene comes back in all its glory.
Will this mean that 'the popularity system sucks' loses its meme status?
Then again, we could just use it to flourish up uninteresting threads with!
Pop sys now sucks slightly less.
In all seriousness, let's see how this pan out. Not that the good ol wc3 system is superior, it might not be suitable for the current generations. Let's wait and see
Agreed, let's see how this pans out, but it's GREAT they fully recognize Bnet and custom map issues and are working on improving it in ways that we and them both think should/would work. This is sweet!
Also, he said, "Overall, the biggest complaint we’ve heard is about the popularity system and how games are listed." Do they go onto SC2Mapster or is this a complain across the SC2 community?
yes Rodrigo, they sensed your return and as a blessing upon the Stacraft community they gave us good news. Even if in the end this just makes the pop system suck less, at least its good to confirm that they are trying to listen to us now that they tried to fix the system and didn't succeed all that much. I'm personally exited for the art tools, and the thought of making a map that looks very separate from Starcraft, but then again i expected this part of it to come out for another couple months but if it comes in the actual meaning of soon then whoa lol. Ive even recently discovered how to put one of the songs I wrote into the map and it sounded fine, although I wouldn't put a song I spent months working on because I"m not sure if I published the map if blizzard would suddenly own my song. anyway at least it is always a good to have a reminder like this that they are trying to listen to us and see our point of view :) .
For any of you struggling with popularity, thy time has come. http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/blog/4592755/Developer_Update_with_Game_Director_Dustin_Browder_-3_12_2012 I'm guessing it's going to be like Wc3 bnet custom games list.
Oh and also art tools are coming out ;)
Omg, didn't think it would come this soon. Can't wait for this.
A W E S O M E !
Does anyone know exactly what Open game list means? because I cant tell, reading the article.
Suprisingly good news.

@Ranakastrasz: Go
Nobody knows because
but one can assume it's a list of active lobbies (where players sit and wait for someone to come play with them)

Looking forward to some great and much-needed changes!
Also, for those who are wondering about the date. This might clear things up.
I'm speechless.
