I haven't tried installing the game yet, but I want to go back and finish my Rise of the New Agent Campaign so Kheldrun's story is told.
I know many will probably not play it (that could be fixed with an SC1 mod for SC2), but I've gotten enough requests to finish it that I'm going to do so.
Does anyone know if SC1 will work on Windows 7 64-bit? I know it works on 32-bit, but I'm worried it might have problems on a 64-bit machine.
Too bad there isn't a "good old games" version of SC1.
Works on my computer, the same color glitches from Windows xp, but its fine and perfectly playable. Might want to set it to stretch otherwise you are looking at a small square to play in.
if your not pirateing, then Download it from your B.net account it fixes alot of bugs.
Color glitches for old games tend to disappear, if you stop the explorer after starting the game. After starting the game, go to your taskmanager and stop the explorer.exe process, then alt-tab back into the game. For many games, this makes any color glitches disappear. Never tested this for SC1 specifically, though.
After closing the game, you can execute the explorer.exe from the task manager again.

Yeah. I remember that. I just don't remember the exact batch file you need to make for SC1.

I think, yes, because there exists a color fix for 64 bit windows versions, too.
Please read my comment in this link to learn what you can do to improve Starcraft and it's battle.net for Windows 7/Vista:

Blizzard screwed up their Support article with the color issue because they are linking the registry fix for wc2. -.-

Just remember to always run it with admin powers, otherwise you won't be able to play in b.net
Ooo... thanks.
