Hey everyone.
Someone managed to contact Lipchitz (the uploader of 0.2 nexus wars on the eu server), to make him erase his upload.
The only nexus wars available now is "Nexus Wars US". While I don't know if this is the newest version, I think someone should upload the latest and maintain to upload the latest versions of the map.
vjeux, as you've uploaded several maps from the US bnet to the EU bnet, maybe we should try to contact the developer and let you upload the latest Nexus Wars too :)

The only thing about Nexus Wars(any version) is the massive lag that annoys me. I keep thinking that my card will fry when there are like 200+ units on the screen fighting. Everything goes slooooow. Massive lag(not latency) spikes. "YoUr Pc IS SlOWiNg dOwN ThE gAmE. rEDucE gRaPhics", "YoUr Pc IS SlOWiNg dOwN ThE gAmE. rEDucE gRaPhics", "YoUr Pc IS SlOWiNg dOwN ThE gAmE. rEDucE gRaPhics". I quit the game when that happens.
I'd say that depends on a few factors: What's the type & speed of your CPU, what's the video card and what's the typical settings you play SC2 with graphically? They all balance out to what your frames per second is and when that drops below a certain threshold is when that "Your computer sucks" message starts to pop up. To give an example I've got a pretty kick-ass card and processor but when I'm debugging a map in a window mode with the trigger debugger window open it'll also start to send that message even though its the debugging window updating itself that's slowing down the game play if I turn on all output displays. IE my video card can easily handle the visuals currently going on but with the debugger running full diagnostic mode it can drop the frame rate enough to make those messages appear.
Well, I have a core i3 and a 5850 graphics card. I can play everything maxed out. I have heard stories of Sc2 melting some cards, but I dont know, They could have just been really old cards with poor cooling.
The I3 is your bottle neck for sure, they're pretty wimpy CPUs to be honest. Btw about the cards melting I remember that jackass who made that blog post that got so much attention because his card happened to die after playing some SC2. The issue there is SC2 doesn't cap the frame rate by default so any cards that are on their last legs being asked to run full out may fail but its really something they should be able to do without question and indefinitely. So yah old (as in age/usage, not tech) could face the wrath of death but only because they failed not the game asking them to do their job.
Your 5850 is a pretty stellar card and more then enough to handle SC2, if you're still concerned though go into the graphics settings and ensure that the setting for vSync (Vertical Sync) is checked, that'll ensure that even if your card can push the frames well above what your monitor can display it'll only do as much as your monitor can refresh. Eg: In those between mission screens there is so little going on a good card can easily push 600-2400fps displaying them, but with vsync enabled it'll cap that at a much more reasonable 60-85fps depending on monitor.

Thanks for the info!. Im not sure if I have Vsync on or off..I`ll go and check it out. You are also right about my i3:(. I should have went Amd perhaps.

Hey RodrigoAlves....What map are you busy on these days?, Going to do something new/different?
I don't really have lag problems with the latest version at least, if Fog of War is on like I prefer. I had serious problems with the beta version tought.

Its "vjeux" ;P
No nexus wars on EU?
And I'm not home for a few days to see that. Damn.
So far I'm not seeing a downside to the original plan :P
I think Nexus Wars US is up to date. At least was the last time I played it.
god dam it forgotten about again sighs

lol, when I read this thread I saw "Save EU Bnet from Nexus Wars!!" :P

Ok, how about this: just let Nexus War dies peacefully since it has already lived longer than it deserves?
