Hey! My name is Alexander and I prowl this site every now and again, I usually call myself Einhärjar or more previous Kazzeroth and I've been working on something Starcraft 2 related for quite some time, a macinima in fact!
It's hardly nothing super advanced but just some testing ground for future possible videos but as such I figured it'd be a decent idea to try to get some of the wonderful people of the internet to give me some criticism. Now I know some things could be done better such as have a fade out, actually making the video around the track (I meant to splice audio but I figured that this fitted well enough) and so on.
The future videos would probably be less "try-hard" and serious but I've really learned quite a lot from this project even if I've had to worst working schedule for it ever.
I'll try to supply a download link for anybody interested but know that it's really wonky in the actual game.
Anyhow the video is at, as it seems embedding isn't allowed so:
About the actual video, first of all, where are the stars? A nearby planet perhaps worth all the space carnage would be pretty fantastic too. Other than that, seemed reasonable as far as space battles go, kind of dark on my screen though. Also, I was pretty annoyed that the Protoss didn't have much build up, but proceeded to kick the crap out of everything they touched. Also, ignoring the whole fact that Terrans were clearly using Protoss abilities, they seemed to have a LOT of build up only to do almost nothing. First offense was the SUPER glorified Yamato cannon build up, only to do well, nothing.... Then in comes a massive portal, with an ominously huge battlecruiser busting in. It kind of kills the carrier nearby, I think, I couldn't tell, releases 3 mighty shots to destroy 3 little wimpy ships, some ineffectual fire at the mothership, then must retreat already?
Obviously it is going to play out how it plays out, and that is all well and good, but in my eyes a ton of build up for a huge let down is not good, unless your purpose is parodic content. Keep at it man, don't take it as bad, is a good little cutscene really, just doing my critiquing duty as requested :)
I want to add that you could have used better missile impact models. Some of those over scaled ones looks very bad. And as Deadzergling said more ships from further distance would have looked better as those melee units are very low poly.
But anyway, I thought cutscenes this nice arent possible to be made.
Thanks guys (and / or girls), this information is invaluable for any future creations. This will not really be the kind of thing I do, serious things really ain't my thing but it was a good experiment to get to learn movement etc.
Don't worry about me being offended, I am not like that, I did ask for criticism so there is absolutely no need for being apologetic.
I am very thankful for the fact that you took your time to help me out and I will try to think about some of the following:
-Pacing
-The Backgrounds
-Think about the models quality
-Contrast
-etc.
Once again, much appreciated.

Wow. I didn't know you could do stuff like that. I'm just getting to know the Editor, but very cool.
Some of the units seems sorta choppy.
Did the Carrier go through the Battlecruiser at the end? Like something out of Star Wars.
Perhaps a little back story.
Stars and a planet would make it seem way less dark and bleak.
