Is there a way to remove the lighting effects on a unit. For example, if I went into the data editor and turned the map lighting tint to a dark blue, everything in the map would turn blue except the unit i dont want lighting affects on. Instead that unit would stay its set color.
I can't give you any detailed help, but AFAIK lighting effects on models can be rather problematic. I've seen quite a number of topics on it - people had great ideas like making the whole map dark and giving the units flashlights, but that kind of stuff only works with workaround, I think. Again; I'm not sure, but it's well possible that it's impossible to edit lighting effects on a unit/model itself.
The only reason I thought it may be possible is because when pressing L in the editor it toggles Game Lighting, Editor Lighting and No Lighting. I thought because there is a no lighting toggle it may be possible.

Afaik, lighting depends on the shader settings and no lighting just represents a lower setting, which does not support lighting at all.
