That's weird, I'm pretty sure the editor never asked me to log into the account! (except for publishing, obviously)
It may have something to do with preventing people of playing freely through loading tons of custom maps one at a time, such as doing the whole campaign that way.
The only situation editor askes me to login is when I open it not being connected to internet. Otherwise it knows somehow that I was logged in some day and it's still me.
if you don't log in for a while (with galaxy) it asks you to do so for a system check.. i believe the argument is patch version issue.. they do it as a redundancy to synchronize by default (doing it before you want to use the publishing tool, instead of right smack when u do want to).
just like for star2 itself.. if you log in and want to play, it will not allow you to do so if your version is antiquated..
we live in the dematerialized under constant scrutiny ongoing age...
not only is the product only usable if "someone" is accountable for it (is paying a phone bill : has a billing address linked to a bank account)
but the product is no longer "a product".. it is an ongoing project that will change from purchase to extinction....
Really weird world we woe in.. isn't winning me over that's for sure ;^p (sounds too much like a tupperware deal or pension fund scams to me) ;
on the flip side: never had so much after purchase service for 50 bucks,
on the flap side: can't get this big brother chip to leave my shoulder.. bothersome huxley...

And now out of the blue Blizzard asks me to authenticate my account in editor? Did I miss something in the patch notes?
@sigmapl: Go
pretty sure that means it just wants to log in.
Yeah I know what it wants but my question is are you guys having the same Warning pop-up which closes the editor if you don't comply
Always been this way. Used to ask you every time you used it, now only asks you on the first login of every month (I think).
Thanks. Thats weird though. It never asked me to do that before. Well... you can never be cautious enough.
@sigmapl: Go
It asked me the very first time. In certain regions it requires logins more often. I suppose blizzard just trusts us more.
