Blizzard maps are not featured anymore. So, how popular are them now?
In less than 48 hours hours, Blizzard's maps went from page 1 to:
StarJeweled: Page 3 (487 hours played).
Left 2 Die: Page 7 (18 hours played).
Aiur Chef: Page 11 (6 hours played).
I will be more clear. Vexal Tower Defense (Vexal's map that many people were QQing about) has around 4800 hours played. Blizzard's most popular map has only 10% of its popularity!
I won't stop there! Mephs map (the one he was QQing for not being popular) has 732 hours played!
Now I will humiliate. Debates has an average of 24 hours played, which is FOUR TIMES MORE POPULAR THAN AIUR CHEF!!
What is more incredible is that Left 2 Die is a DEFENSIVE map, and despite all the crazy advertisement from Blizzard, people would rather join Starcraft to debate than to play Left 2 Die. No wonder they hate Debates so much.
Ps.: Sorry for talking about Debates, but it was the only map that could show how badly popular is Blizzard's map now.
Interesting. Well, I think they're the kind of maps that don't get played forever like competitive DOTA/TUGs. Just like pris rebel went from high page 1 to page 9000 in a month.
Based on articles and the actual maps when I opened them, you're wrong. They put them out as beta to see how we'd react. Then they're going to finish them and post them as released and have all these updates based on feedback and we're gonna be shocked out of our pants.
Of course they won't. Beta was just slapped on to cover their ass against any flaws.
They'll update them. I'm pretty sure Starjeweled has been updated already since the game seems to go much faster than it did when it originally came out. They've also said that they're going to add more to the maps (options for best of 1, best of 3, best of 5 for Starjeweled, for example).
well the reason they are unpopular is because they suck. But I fully believe blizzard DOTA, featured or not, will be very popular. I really want that map!

These guys are still mappers same as us who love what they do. I imagine these maps in particular were especially fun to make, and I see no reason for the authors to be at all apathetic about them.
Although I didnt like the custom maps, I gotta hand it to blizz. They made the absolute best rts campagin they have ever made, and it tops a lot of other rts campaigns.

Really? As technically good as it was, I did not have the same interest while playing it as I did during Warcraft 3 (not to mention Diablo 2's story was awesome). I didn't come from sc1 though so that may have affected it. Although with war3 I never played war2 but that campaign had me so hooked. Watching the final archimonde vid getting owned by the world tree was epic!
These maps were not developed to obliterate the charts. They were made as part of a research project to investigate and better understand the issues and needs of modders working within the limitations of the Galaxy Editor. With each map, they are improving the capabilities of the editor.
For example, Bejeweled investigates visually dynamic dialogs.

Haha, revenge is a dish best served... well not in aiur chef, that game blows.
@RodrigoAlves: Go
Starjeweled stays because bejeweled is addictive, and a Nexus Bejeweled Wars game should be popular. Other than that, nothing surprising

Patch 1.3 is coming to make Blizzard maps popular again (and our maps) :)
