That is quite awesome to hear. Horray for good PR and for dreams coming true.
Well the ball is in blizzards court now.
So we will have to see how they take this, there are 2 possibilities.
1. Blizzard sees this as a huge opportunity, seeing that the arcade with the correct previsions can bring in vast donation money, to vastly improve on the editor. removing some focus from E-Sports.
2. Blizzard sees this as a false sense of security and the updates that we have been getting stop.
Honestly I believe in blizzard and think they will go with the first option, but that 2nd is always there. I have thought about this a lot since this kickstarter opened, and have hit both sides of the argument several times, of course thats what I do, look at the facts, the past, and try to predict the future based on that information :) its quite fun.
There were also 2 options if the kickstarter failed(which I thought would happen, though was proven wrong :D )
1. Blizzard would see that the arcade is dying and really do everything in its power to boost it.
2. Blizzard and the majority of the mapping community would go into further despair
Thanks so much for the support guys the whole team is ecstatic and hopefully Blizzard is too. The fans are insanely passionate and this right here shows how imortant mapping is. With any luck this means they'll put some heavy effort into the mapping scene. It also kind of outlines a way to revive dead projects that would have also blown people away if they were finished. It's still not over until 30 hours and people can back out but I don't think anyone would be so cruel :D
To be fair, it does seem as though they put some of their own money into the kickstarter to guarantee its success. Regardless, I am curious to see how this all goes for them.
Great. Good job, guys. I was afraid it fails and the whole community get depressed. But now it worked, and this may inspire us, because it's like an indicator of better fate for the arcade.
I really am happy for these guys!! congratulations to them :)
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/747939120/starcraft-universe yeah congrats, i really didnt think it would make it but i was proven wrong

I hope this will encourage other sc2 kickstarter projects
now they just have to make sure and release it.
well done
I seriously hope they use that money to at least release some or all of their assets to the community, such as models etc.
80,000... what is that even used for
I knew it. Suck it everyone who said it would fail. Freaking pessimists. Congratulations!
@Ababmer: Go
Paying for food and electricity for a year or so. For a team of more than one person.
They said what the money was for on the kickstarter thing. There was this pie chart thingy with the things and other stuff
Things things stuff chatter chatter babble babble technical wizardry jargon strange words buffyspeak
Well thats good, horray! Hopefully Legacy of the void fixes the arcade.

Fantastic! I'm so happy for them ^.^
Time to celebrate :P
congratz
time* to make a video with goodies (suspenseful goodies) showcased (both game and dev) :D
thank you
a question i had was ....
Since this game is curently now funded does that mean that the 100mb cap is lifted????
because i dont think they could use less than 100 to make a huge map??
@missile17: Go They can use more than one account to hold all the required mods.
