Gotta say I really love everything, except I'm not sure where the fun or not section is in the arcade?
Well, that was the "Artists Conception" as far as I know, they haven't actually made it in-game so a lot was missing or will be changed. You notice they only showed flat images. =P
I must say, if your map doesn't have to be premium to use the whole patch notes\how to play\review section or the matchmaking system that would be really cool. I still wish there was a "See all" button that would simply bring you to a sortable, filterable list of all maps that have an active user in the lobby but all of this is a big improvement.

Its more like the longer you sit in a lobby, the more chance of player queued up for your hosts.
So any player who “joins” can`t choose what he wants to play? he just gets tossed into a random game? ——
No. IF you use fun or not (which currently tosses you into a random game) then you will get put into games with a host waiting for players.
Aso, the written articles are coming soon. Sixen will be getting back from blizzcon around Monday, at which point he will write up some nice articles with details. The stream was our way of getting the info out ASAP ( seconds after they finished…we had like no time to get ready. Lol )
My main gripe with fun or not is that it'll be bottlenecked by bad maps. It's well possible that somebody wants to try his sucky Nexus Wars-style map and hosts himself a game. Everybody clicking the fun or not button will end up in his map, go "not this shit again" and leave, meaning the system will force players into the sucky Nexus Wars-style map that everybody already knows and dislikes until it sticks, basically. What I guess I mean is this: while I like the idea of forcing people to try new maps with that system, it'll also force people into bad maps if someone just wants to host his bad map up there.
The current system forces people into a random map. It's got quite a good chance for a sucky map. The new system, at least, allows us to get people into our games.
Anyways the detailed articles are coming :D

I 100% agree with this and its most likely a fatal flaw...Why not give a list of like 3-10 maps hosted in the queue (would be nice if you could name them) and people could join them. The list should also ROTATE and quite fast intervals (atleast if its like 10mins and nobody joins :E).
Its an improvement and I think It will give maps chance to be played (people do use the current fun or not evey now and then). But FORCING is bad + when you join full lobby and it starts you cannot leave....
As map makers view the system will most likely be good as you can get testers if you wait long enough. As players view it SUCKS, I cannot see myself ever joining those maps if I cannot preview or select from couple of different maps. they should atleast add PREVIEW funcion...so you are not forced to join before knowing what is coming :/
It's funny though. With the regular pop system people are complaining that good low-pop maps aren't played, and with this new system we're complaining that low-pop maps might suck but be forced upon us if we want to play anything low-pop.
Well there are maps some people just dont enjoy like footy or smashcraft no matter how polished or good they are. Its just not that the map is good or bad...its the FORCING that I dont like...I suppose like 3 fun or not maps should be displayed at same time and get "preview image" or maybe even somekind of skip button to next map if you dont like the current fun or not map.
The Marketplace has been renamed to the Arcade. Basically they're working on it, and they are implementing the technology to allow us to sell stuff. But the actual selling stuff won't be coming for HotS. The Arcade is basically a new-and-improved custom games system. Very similar to something like the apple app store.
We're going to have all the details written up and explained soon. I'm working on the Blizzard DOTA writeup at the moment, and the editor, arcade, story and multiplayer articles will be up eventually.
People don't like fun or not because they can't choose what maps to join. The fun or not lobby has a high amount of leavers because they already know they don't want to play that map. Its a huge flaw that can be fixed by showing us a few maps to choose from.
But then if they do that, blizzard will end up with the old system...oh noes!!
But yeah, I like what TheSkunk said... which (who knows) they might even give us one day. A blind fun or not with queue is OKAY, but like we've all been saying for years now... what'd be awesome is a list which shows the lobbies at top of the queue that you could join.
couple things I'd like to add. I think blizzard has taken dota in a good direction for the general gamer. Meaning too bad for you hardcore dota fans, but who cares cause you have Dota 2, HoN, and LoL. I honestly have always disliked dota, and not so much the game as the @holes who play it. As a new player trying out a previous version of dota it was never fun because all you get is yelled at and screamed at because its a complex game and if you don't know exactly what to do you are doing. Whereas with the blizzard dota it looks like I could join and just have fun with core gameplay mechanics and not be yelled at for doing something. So Props to blizzard for making their dota newbie friendly.
On the matters more important to me map editing, words do not describe how happy I am about the improved debugger, the UI editor, the art editor and the cinematic editor. Honestly the SC2 editor will finally be an actual professional level development tool with these additions. I don't know if any of these questions were answered if they have I'm sorry, I did try and find them but couldn't.
1. Was there any news about custom maps using the match making system?
2. And about the UI editor was it going to be possible to create entirely new UI structures and additions, not just modifications to already existing ones? It would be nice to move away from using dialogs as much as possible for UI menus so I'm very curious if I'll be able to make my own menus from scratch with the UI editor.
EDIT:
3. Also anyone know if they are gonna give us early access to the HotS editor like they did for initial WoL release? I'm hoping they will because the editor changes, especially for UI, look like they will probably break a bunch of stuff in our map.
On the flipside, I think DOTA is doomed to always have a shitty audience. HoN's is incredibly elitist, LoL's is just assholic and from what I've seen of the popular Warcraft 3 DOTA allstars it wasn't to thrilling either.

Somehow managed to squeeze in like 5 or 6 Blizzard DOTA games, will do a write up soon.

Nope, that's Diablo 3 CE, we're talking about Blizzcon 2011, only 1 portrait
I was surprised to see "The Card Game" in a that Arcade example.
