There is actually a forum for this kind of thing already that DOES work(they wont reply most times)
But I have gotten a lot of luck at. Patch 2.0.10 Pretty much gave me most of what I had requested(i didnt see anyone else having the same request anywhere else so I guess that is where they read it from).
replies to reviews. PM option...maybe somekind of integration to show new messages from author instead of uploading new map? (sorta like twitter I suppose).
More social -> more motivation -> better maps etc....
I could come up with more stuff but I doubt my suggestions would be ever added.

I really really like that. Logging back and reading a bunch of stuff, basically a mail service for sc2 sounds awesome. I really hope it something like that gets implemented. Wouldn't get thrilled with all the hate mails/death threads, but it's a neglect-able price to pay for such a cool addition.
@Zolden: Go I disagree. I'd inform when bugs are already fixed. Point where instructions are when players haven't noticed them. And this kind of reply that can actually help people that bother checking the review list.
It is true, minor discreet mapmakermen will use reply feature for friendly informative replies. Maybe even major, because the ability to learn editor and make maps rather corellates with gentleness. So, probably, this feature won't be abused by aggrieved map autors too much.
Personally if I play a map I read through all the reviews. If I see any that is biased or just flaming, I make sure and correct those statements when I make my review. Community is everything and there just isn't enough ways to become part of a maps community easily. There should be in-game forums for maps with like 2 or 3 sections, because lately people just don't want to sign up to your forum and become apart of your map even if you're popular, and it's just because it's a pain to keep track of multiple forums. If you just could click on the map, click on the forum and see some of the new things going on with the map, I'm sure alot of people would be more interested in becoming apart of many maps' communities considering they don't have to go through sign-up process.
Now to get all the players who quit arcade playing again, and maybe some of those guys from WC3.

Here is a recap of what I found on this thread, I'm going to open a survey to know what are the most wanted features.
Please let me know if I missed something important.
GENERAL
- Local game hosting for single player maps (to remove controls lag)
- Local asyncronous triggers (triggers that can work on cameras/actors/UI to allow lagless user controls in multiplayer)
- Allow arcade games to continue while a player is lagging instead of freezing everyone
- Allow players reconnection in custom maps
- Maps online linking (for campaigns or zone traveling)
- Server side banks storage for players data(improved security)
- Server side banks storage for map data (global scores, custom statistics)
- Complete the ingame UI editor
- Improved first person camera to reduce FPS drops (use low details models or hide distant objects)
- Full support for custom 4th race
- Automatic global language translation for different locales
- Better documentation / add editor missing tips in data editor
- Allow the use of multiple cameras on screen (ex. rear view mirror in a driving game)
- Support for blizzard made libraries containing WC3/WOW/Diablo assets
- Option to force tutorial first
TRIGGERS
- Dynamic arrays/lists
- Allow functions to return arrays/records
- Allow the use of groups for any data type and not only for players/units (ex. integer group, string group, regions group, etc)
- Allow trigger placed doodads to effectively block paths (ATM pathing works only for pre-placed doodads)
- Ability to get/change terrain texture type, cliff height, water by trigger
- Better galaxy editor (syntax highlighting, functions/variables autocompletion, etc.)
TERRAIN
- 512x512 map size
- More then 3 cliff heights
- More then 8 terrain texture tiles
- Allow the use of smaller water patches
- Allow 3d paths (bridges)
- Allow regional fog
- Increase the 10.000 doodad limit
- Add water pathing (naval system)
- NO-FLY Pathing, NO-ANYTHING Pathing
DATA
- Better abilities/actor events management based on unit's level to improve heroes creation speed
- Include wizards to speed up data editing and help new mappers
- Better actor events editor (allow delete by shortcut, allow reordering, copy paste between different actors, etc.)
B.NET
- Better open game lists view (preview map images, different views, more filters, etc.)
- Mapper's b.net user page (editable page that shows user's published maps / news)
- Campaign b.net page (group different maps with a sèecific order, allow setting of constraints like: map 2 requires map 1 to be completed first)
- Maps statistics for mappers (players/day, total players, unique players, medium game duration, etc)
- Map bug report/tracker (like reviews but used to give private direct feedback to the map author)
- Make all arcade maps available with the SC2 starter edition or at least allow players that own only SC2 WOL to play maps that use HOTS libraries
- Paypal donate button in map pages
- Introduce per-map microtransactions
- Priorize new/updated unpopular maps instead of open lobbies (usually popular maps) in the fun or not system
- Allow hosters to choose lobbies name (like in WC3)
- Youtube videos in the arcade map page
CUTSCENE EDITOR
- Allow the use of dialogs in the Cutscene Editor
- Add turrets rotation in the Cutscene Editor.
- Easier texture swapping

Guys, considering the amount of requested features is really huge and blizzard can't work on all of them, what do you think about creating a survey asking for the most wanted 3-5 features modders really want?
I can create the survey but I need someone that can help with a pointed list containing a summary of all features proposed on this thread. Anyone offering?
Even though thats a nice idea, I highly doubt that we all can agree on those "most wanted features".
Every modder has other needs, depending on the type of project hes working on and his area of expertise.
I guess we have to let Blizzard decide which requests they want to (and even can possibly) work on. :)
I wish blizz guys show up and confirm they took some points from this thread, just to cheer us up and remove a shadow of a feeling that all this is in vain.
I don't see how, it's not like one is going to make an account and claim to be a developer. And I also can't see one making a post on the battle.net forums just to say that a thread on an unaffiliated site was acknowledged. There's also the fact that they never asked the public, only their small group of recognized mappers, because, you know, they're the only ones skilled with the editor and have viable ideas.
That's the way to go, not crybaby like Fockewulf especially about the esports lulz.
Have you tried bringing that thread to Blizz forums? Either a redirect or even posting the same in the Blizz forums? They will not reply here but in US forum they would.

Blizzard are fully aware of SC2Mapster, during SC2 Beta giveaway in 2010, they are aware Mapster is one of if not the biggest community for SC2, I don't see how they wouldn't pay attention

1. Yes blizzard does read the un-affiliated sites, though last I heard they were not happy with curse(this is just a RUMOR).
2. They look at all mappers, Though they may have some they look for, I don't think they listen to some more then others. And I doubt that if they do it would be based on skill rather experience with modding communities. Experience>skill.
3. They did ask the public, on the public forums, people just stop posting, When you come across a bug or something you think we need, then post it in the Bugs, Suggestions and Ideas Forum on battle.net they DO read that. trust me when I say, and I repeat, THEY DO READ IT... nearly everything I have personally asked for has been given :) (with exception of larger systems) sooo either they really really love me, or they read everyones, and I doubt I am on the best list to them haha.

I want a number, that shows how many players are in a lobby and what is the maximum of players, so that i see, waht open game has a high chance to be played in the near time.
I spend sooooooo much time waitong in a looby of my map with 4/6 or 5/6 players and noone jions. When i jion other maps its the same, half filled lobbys but nobody else jions.

I would like better custom campaign support :( I dont like how hard it is to copy data between maps.
