Just beat it on hard, Gotta say it was awesome, The story was somewhat Predictable, but if you just sit back and enjoy the ride its REALLY awesome. There are a number of reasons for the artifact to only shock, but the gun in the cell got me haha.
It was easier then WoL, but A lot more fun, very well put together, the cutscenes were plentiful and amazing. had a lot of fun with it. will DEFF play it again.
ALSO another easter egg, on korhal the first mission you get to play as Dahnka, there is a hellion without the gun thing if you kill it a marine will say "Hey my bike" :P
If you click on Stukov enough times, he gives you a very long and detailed rundown of what happened to him. He also says, "I give new meaning to the term 'Zerg Russian'." (You have to read it out loud). Poking Horner in the Hyperion is fun too.
Finished it. I have to say, Blizzard did a really amazing job on the campaign. Where WoL was convoluted at times, Heart of the Swarm is more linear and focused, and the missions revolving around the whole Zerg playstyle mechanics worked out well.
Story has some weak elements. As usual, Zeratul feels really out of place in his interactions. Other plot elements as others have mentioned too, kinda predictable etc.
Execution and implementation is near perfect. The story telling through the missions and cinematics is top quality work right there. Attention to detail, amazing. Kerrigan's character is brought to life, and the emotions/story behind her is portrayed really well. I would say she is on par with the legacy of Arthas/Lich king at this point as the greatest Blizzard characters of all time.
In conclusion its one of the best expansion single player campaigns to date from Blizzard. Im very critical, but I was really impressed by this.
I just finished it. The missions were absolutely fantastic to play through- the level design was top-notch. The story was pretty good the entire way through, although the only thing I didn't quite enjoy as the ending. And that's probably more related to the fact that it's a gigantic cliffhanger. I also enjoyed the fact that Horner, Swann, and Mira Han all got appearances in the game. The only complaints I'd really have beyond those is that once again (perhaps even more so than in WoL) the protoss weren't really used all that much. I personally think they're the coolest race and I've wanted the LotV campaign since the time they announced the trilogy setup.
I'm also curious to know what the original ending was intended to be. The ending cutscene was pretty similar to the leaked one earlier, and in the original, Mengsk had a copy of Kerrigan in a tank and injected something into her neck to kill her O.o
I've got a feeling everybody's gunna be teaming up in LotV. With kerrigan leading the swarm, Valerian as the new emperor (probably), and Zeratul trying to avoid world-extinction, it seems like we'll get some pretty cool cooperation.

Discussed this in an earlier thread, my hypothesis was that it was a flashback to when Sarah was found at Fujita by Mengsk and brought back to the Hyperion's sickward, all Confederate Ghosts had some sort of kill switch along with their cybernetic implants, Mengsk said he removed Sarah's but he isn't exactly known for honesty and not planning for the future. Seeing as Blizzard changed it however, I'm not even sure they thought of it this way.
For plot holes and the like I personally really dislike Zerg warp drives and artificial gravity. Also that some Zerg other than infested Terrans or engineered by infested Terrans was lip synced to English could be considered strange, but I guess there is no other way of doing it.
so I take it the majority agrees that it was a satisfying experience? personally I felt the story was better then BroodWar, the again I didnt care too much for broodwars story :))
Why did Keriann let General Warfield die? A queen is supposed to be manipulative and intelligent - she should have told him he had to agree to "give himself willingly" and infest him making him a invaluable source of information, in exchange she would let "his men" escape.
She could have even had tactical insight into the fact that Mengsk was keeping the Xelnaga Artifact (The most deadly weapon against Zerg in the universe) in his office - where she was going.
Did we really need to be reminded that Kerrigan was "noble" thereby making her a hero in HoTS after she had killed millions of people. Her entire backstory including her killing her parents is polar opposite of her letting terrans go and live - especially without a good cause.
Most intelligent military leaders wouldn't throw away an asset like that.

I don't know if you've read any of the novels, but the death of her parents was an accident. As people with psionic gifts go, Kerrigan was off the charts; as a child she had very little control over that power.
The incident with her parents led to her being forced into the Ghost program and into all the awfulness that goes with it.
When she worked for Arcturus and killed people for him, it was because she believed his goals were noble.
When she killed people in HotS, it was a matter of survival. Essentially the singular objective of the entire Dominion under Mengsk was to see her dead. As long as Mengsk lived, her life and Jim's life would be in danger.
Infested Kerrigan had almost purely destructive motivations under the influence of Amon. Now that she's free of that influence and has a conscience again, it's not a big surprise to see her driven by human emotions. She may not feel much remorse for those killed in her quest for survival/vengeance, but she's not a sadistic sociopath either.
It's possible that she was indeed planning to get intel from Warfield by any means necessary. She didn't "allow" him to die. He pushed her buttons and she lashed out at him in anger, killing him. Despite that anger she knew Warfield was right that she had nothing to gain by killing those wounded soldiers. She didn't let them live so she could be like "ooh look at me I'm so noble". She let them live because she didn't have a good reason to kill them.
I still think that the biggest mistake made by Blizzard when creating SC2 was making Kerrigan and the Queen of Blades two seperate characters. There was so much potential in that character. But nope, they went the cliche route of making the Queen of Blades a bad influence.. bleh...

Noticed that right away, too, was a nice touch I thought :)

"They came from... Behind!"
Saw this tooltip on the prison rescue mission.

Good job Blizzard.
Thinking back a gun in Raynors Cell doesnt surprise me, back in Brood War, they kept entire battle cruisers in prison cells complete with captains :P.
Not to mention in WoL, they kept Prisoners just 1 door from tanks and diamondbacks
Hard? No one ever plays on Brutal? I'd do all on Brutal once I have a playable system for the game

God, you got me all excited for nothing. For a minute I thought they made a gyrocopter model for that mission.

And the rain on Char was obviously not water.

I get the strange feeling I saw this scene somewhere else before
