Pitfall: It seems like every new map I upload appears as a [%arg2%] in the chat when I try to use the [lobby] command to link them in the chat. The link still works, but ofc the name is all fucked up. Only some really old maps of mine dont seem to have this problem when I upload them.
Fix: If you experience this, your map needs to have an english localization.
pitfall: Send transmission and send transmission (advanced) are no longer available in trigger listing of functions. It will still work in old maps that have it though.
Solution: copy/paste the function from old maps.
It doesn't actually work, though. Not entirely. It seems that it doesn't display the text message, a.k.a. subtitle, anymore. That's going to be pretty ruinous for me.

What has happened is they are now deprecated, and do not show up in the UI. They have been replaced/upgraded with new versions that send the transmission, but only to a specific player group, so that only certain players see it (I presume this was done to support allied commanders, so that per player transmissions can be sent that are accurate to your commander)

Ugly bypass: delete the entire Starcraft II directory (binaries). and re-install [Will try to find a more focused bypass as i test.]
Solution: Uknown.

Anybody else using Chinese have any similiar issues? It doesn't seem to happen with RUSSIAN, only Chinese (probably lots of special kludges for Chinese servers).
pitfall: custom actor event "Upgrade.x.Add" won't work with "ModelSwap" even though Blizzard's ones do? There's probably some new requirement to make it work but I haven't tried yet.
Pitfall: Cannot add text styles to the body of the loading screen anymore. the dropdown is bugged. when manually inserting the style information (or edit the text in the text editor) the preview is just fine but it doesn't work ingame. style information in the help does work, and so does colour in the body.

On the upgrade tab in data, use the units affected field. That should work i believe.
@willuwontu: Go Doesn't work. Also upgrades fail to change wireframe for actors already on the map, units created after the upgrade receive the change.
Has anyone noticed this in 3.0+? Running a map test locally, it appears that some options keep returning to default values even if the player sets them. Two annoying options that keep showing up is -
Enable Simple Command Card
Disable show subtitles during cut scenes
I want both to be forced. There is an option override for the 1st, can't find one for the second. I don't recall this being an issue with options resetting prior to 3.0. This isn't an issue in Battle.Net, just local map tests
My maps are all text based...so having users not see subtitles during cutscenes on default is quite debilitating!

Yeah, for me it also resets all gameplay settings (Simple CC, health bars, unit selections etc.). Been enforcing them through "If local test" -> "override preferences".
I haven't checked if it was fixed or not with latest patch, but since you're from US - I guess not.

There have been a bunch of new "Game is ...." conditions since 3.0. One of them is "Game is Test" condition.
So at maps initialization I'm checking if game is manual test and if it is - using override option for player. It still doesn't adress your subtitle issue tho.
I don't know why I added "local" in there, sorry about confusion.

Found a great 3.0 mac editor bug! Try using one of the story mods in your map. Then open your trigger menu. Then try to save. A never-ending loop of "loading story * triggers...." occurs, but only on the mac editor. In case anyone wonders, its ONLY when you have your trigger menu open when you load dependency. Close it, and it doesn't happen. Makes a lot of sense...

I got that and I'm running on windows 10. The last sc2 patch seemed to fix that for me! It was annoying. I could add the LOTV dependencies to the map but I couldn't remove the old hots ones.
Publish name must match the previous names of all locales
Has this been fixed yet?
I can't upload any update for multi-locale maps. (which means different map names for each locale)
Tried "use map name for all locale".
Fresh uploads work.
Updates for single-locale maps work.

Still alive and kicking, just busy.
My guide to the trigger editor (still a work in progress)

Yes this appears to overcome problem. Thanks Renee (and Korvin for earlier similar comment).

Where do you find ""If local test" -> "override preferences"? I don't see that as a trigger...is it a map preference? Can you point me where?

Gotcha. OK, yeah, there isn't an override then for show subtitles at cutscenes? Anyone else come across this with a possible workaround?
Otherwise, I believe if the game is played in Battle.Net and loaded as a save map locally it should be fine
