I'll start off this serious non-whining conversation with this question, is it possible to have a thriving niche community with frequent inflow easily in sc2? I have only ever seen one REAL community that is to be considered "niche". My own lotr community thrives below the internet sun. The maps are played by the fish who lurk in darker waters, waters that never see the light of day. Every so often, the community breaks the surface, but they usually stay below.
Still, this could be exception, phenomena, I dont know. Is it possible for a niche community to thrive in this popularity system?
Smashcraft survived for several months as a niche community and sat snugly on page 2-3 until I stopped really updating the game. It still got 200-300 hours on the regular and the chat would be 30+ people on average nights.

Malum Ruina has a pretty steady community most days. It's small but growing. Fun times.
