First off, congratulations to those who made it to the top 10.
On the subject of themes. I believe that having such a requirement is meant for two purposes. Firstly, it makes the judging more objective. One could say that Blizzard is being lazy, as is always the case with any company. But the reality is that we want results, we want judgement, we want the prize, and we want it NOW! So the theme requirement makes a somewhat common basis for judging the various entries.
Second, this is also to spur creativity. As the saying goes "Necessity is the mother of invention".
Now, could they possibly make another contest, and split it so that one contest is more about being under pressure (short, 3 - 4 months, maybe even less) and then an extended contest that lasts 6-9 months? Perhaps.
Anyways, just a reminder to everyone that you have a little less than 24 hours from now to get your votes in if you haven't yet for some reason, be it laziness, forgetfulness, bitterness, whatever :) Just go over here if you need to anywho: RTC Top 10

Thx, probably wouldnt have voted without this reminder.
blizz offers prizes even for playing dat entries? Looks desperate. Does it rly that bad, noone wanna play arcade maps?
I mean pay for arcade map creation, then pay so that maps are played ...........
yes it is, they should have taken the money and fix bnet0.2 finally, including "loading forever" bug, invite bug, too many ppl in group bug, and so on and on.
actualy i hadn't opened arcade myself for over 2 years XD. The main issue for me is lag, can't play with that latency after dota2, its AWEFULL.
even hots got better latency.....
Latency was fixed in 3.0. You can play a third person shooter mod in battle.net now and not even notice any kind of lag, provided that you play on your designated server (if you are on EU, play on EU) and you have a good internet connection.
It really surprised me when I played one of my TPS maps on EU after a long time - at first I was thinking I was accidentally playing offline because I wasnt noticing any lag.
i got 100mbps connection and the latency to ru and eu 40-60ms. But sc2 was same lag as warcraft on official server. About 120-160 ms for me on eu (as i felt it)
Didn't test it after 3.0 though.
Anyway interested mostly in rpg maps. Does anyone want to makeone? ;(

exaclty the same thing happend to The Curse of Tristram.

The criticism in this thread is obviously directed at Blizzard, not the players. In my case, at least.

Also that lobby host can kick any players allowing massive trolling for almost a year now is absolutely outrageous.
