If you check their do and don't faq it is actually a gray zone. you are not allowed to advertise anything nor earn money. starting a ticket and see what they say
As far as i remember, I've not yet heard of a map which has been banned because it mentioned a map-homepage or facebook or such stuff. I guess they will ban you if you start adding cocacola adverts and begging for money.
Ya, I would assume that if you are advertising for your game's website, even if it has other stuff on it, they won't care. I mean, if people go to the website, it means they like the game, which means they are playing Starcraft, which means that Blizzard has another customer.
Donations, I don't think, would be a big deal either. "Help me buy a new car!" is not good, but "Visit here for strategies, forums, and to support the game!" with a link to the website would be fine. Well, I would think it would be.
my maps facebook-page is on the loading screen for a solid 6 month now. map is on page two in eu and us, so i guess if they don't like it they would have done something by now
I'm not talking about my map's Facebook page. I just put my personal page that I use for real-life friends. I figured there's really no reason not to merge your online identity with your real one.
Can i ask for anything other than cash in the map or on the loading screen? Like PSN or Xbox Live codes?

I ask for beanie babies and pokemon cards in the loading screen for my map. Still not a single one sent to me.
Cool. I'll ask for a girlfriend.

Next promotion vid from Rodrigo will be him and a girl in bed.
Speaking of which, someone should mix over Rod's video for Nexus Hindrance Wars.
So does 'advertising' your map's homepage, technically break the EULA?
That's not a bad idea actually.
Advertising
This category includes content which advertise:
Any non-beneficial businesses, organizations, or websites

Ticket:
Is it allowed to ask for/mention donations to me on the loading screen of a map?
EU-GM-Response:
Greetings,
Unfortunately ingame advertising is not allowed in this case. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
Regards,
Customer Services
US-GM-Response:
reinstall WoW! wait what O.o
So I guess asking for donations on your homepage is a grey area and should be done discreetly.

Great to be back and part of the community again!
Nice wording :)
I put my Facebook in my load page. It was probably a mistake.

You're like Saruman: everything you say makes perfect sense.
But he's evil nonetheless? I wouldn't quite say that of Vexal :P
What
Can I still ask for a girlfriend?
I'll send Blizzard an email asking if they allow me to ask for a girlfriend on the loading screen.
edit: email sent. I'll let you know the answer if I get one.
