We agree that the arcade can use some adjustments to assist in locating open games and creating a more social atmosphere. That being said, arcade updates are certainly a goal with Legacy of the Void and in the upcoming year in general.

As we have more firm information, we will certainly share it. We have been collecting wants and quality of life improvement suggestions for the Arcade, so thank you to everyone who has been sharing their feedback about how we can improve the Arcade.
There have been various threads about people being displeased with the arcade lately so it makes sense a post would come saying "yes, we read the forums".
Tho the history of deeds doesn't lend much to optimism. Lobby holders issue might be fixed, but anything meaningful besides that? By now I'm morally prepared to load up LotV beta, see that arcade remains unchanged, accept LotV as the last grasp for air and embrace slow sc2 death caused by lack of variety and support.
Edit: I envy enthusiasm and care you posses. Have a like on both.
Removing the "Pending" thing would be a huge step forward. This thing has no right to exist. No other game will hang up the lobby just to wait for one guy's friend, who may just be completely AFK anyway.
I agree, the WC3 arcade system is terrible. Really, I don't understand the fandom that surrounds it. I still play WC3 a lot and what makes their arcade "better" is the content, not the system.
I concur the current system really isn't THAT bad. To me the pending players is one of the biggest issues. If hosts could kick them it'd solve everything there.
Sure the arcade system isn't perfect, but it also has to do with the community and people who play the arcade too. And in the end it really comes down to whether your game is any good. If yes people will continue to play, if no it will disappear, and this is why so many mappers get so butt hurt over the system. I hear more mappers complain about the system than casual players.
It's exactly what I think. Do a nice map (not another TD or DOTA) and players will play your game even if its in the first or the 50th page. If you guys can search through this forum, you can search through arcade games.
Starcraft 2 lost many players since last year and it's only because the normal guy (like me) isnt interested by this game anymore. Theres almost no new map like WC3 (you only have like heroes map, TD maps or DOTA maps) and melee map are boring due to the keyboard bashing and the ever same technic to win. Maybe that SC2 is near of its endlife...

i play only in editor cuz for me it's better game than sc2 (except campaign ofcourse, love it)
No it isn't. The content is a result of a more difficult editor combined with the fact that the majority of wc3 genres now exist as massive f2p entities.

But that would remove single player map's only advantage in the popularity system, lol.
Literally having invites not hold the lobby or take up lobby space would make this game better, this is speaking from someone, who's map he helps co-developed is trolled constantly due to the nature of the game.
a word about the arcade

i agree, if lotv won't bring any major change to the arcade any additional second with the editor is a waste of time
Arcade is currently infinitely superior to Warcraft III's BattleNet system and people still map for that.

you are kidding, arent you?

the content is the direct result of the system

Still alive and kicking, just busy.
My guide to the trigger editor (still a work in progress)
