Hello everyone. I don't have time for my project Galaxy Vampirism. I do not know what to do. Give it open access or no. It is best to find a successor, but I do not know these people, who could be trusted, except for professionals of sc2mapster. I have bad experience with Island TD, when map got a huge amount of different mods and was dead... What do you suggest?
Well if you want to be nice and release the map unprotected go ahead, just dont expect anything. It might be hard to get succesor with skills and motivation.
And it's not as if it was an original idea or had original content or was even that polished ... -_- ... just putting it into perspective. It was a clone of a wc3 map ... which in itself was a pretty bad map ... you may as well go release it to the community ... it will be the kiddies who will learn the most from it ... *cough* ... changing a few values and calling it their own.
You could do what Desert Strike did ... not update it for a year and then update it.
Personally when I was new to modding I found your Defense of the Universe unprotected map quite nifty for learning the editor. I'm a fan of releasing it as a tutorial map. Maybe that way someone out there could benefit. Maybe they'll benefit so much as to even thank you in their map. Beats falling into oblivion.
On the other hand, as a fully working map you will have the problem of someone tweaking it and not crediting you.... &$%#.
Releasing it publicly always helps the community, especially on known maps.
Personally I found that you can't really always find a successor except if you get lucky. Most of my maps are open source now and they haven't really been picked up... but probably a lot of new mappers look at them?
I have already found successor. He will publish map with name Galaxy Vampirism 2. And i am still working on my own map, progress is very slow and map will be ready in next 2-3 months.
