Blizzard is at it again. If anyone else is having this issue, please contact Blizzard.
As of the patch 3.12 which was released today, March 28th, 2017, now you cannot even load the Mac Editor. It simply gives you an "unknown Data" error every time.
I am very disappointed with Blizzard these days. It's one thing if the Editor has bugs, its another if it doesn't work at all.
I think Bootcamp fried my Logic Board before, I don't think I'll be doing the windows 7 boot anytime soon.
Absolutely revolting! It's been days and this still has been fixed. Mac modders everywhere have no access to the editor. I read on their forums that they know about it and are working on a fix, but this was days ago. How can they fuck up the editor so badly with a patch that has nothing to do with the editor!!!!
Yes I am having this bug too right now and so pissed off right now. I was in the middle of a really awesome project. Who knows when this will be fixed. Blizzard has a long history of taking their good old time on things like this and has said there is low support for the editor.
Guys, I ended up purchasing Paralells and running windows 7 on my mac. I got both windows and paralells for super cheap price. At least you can keep working until Blizzard fixes it. Also, chances are they will continue to have problems in the future. As an ongoing thing, and if you are a serious map developer, its just worth it in the long run.
Where did you get these paralells and how much did they cost? I tried getting a Virtual Box with Windows 10 download, but it would not work properly in the virtual box. Turns out that Virtual boxes have very limited graphics support.
Paralells is the best program out there.... I am running an old OSX, Mavericks to be specific and so I wanted to make sure I ran an older Paralells. (The latest Paralells does not support Mavericks)
I got windows 7 for about 30 or 40 bucks, and Parallels 9 for 15 bucks. Only place I could find Paralells 9 was on amazon.com and I had to order it through the mail. I couldn't just get the product key. (figures :P)
Anyway, it came in the mail everything works great! Its a bit slower then running Galaxy directly from your mac but its better then nothing.
However, if you want to run windows 10, you might need a newer version of Paralells, Just make sure whatever version of OSX and windows you are running, you get the corresponding paralells to go with it. That's why I went for 9 because I'm running Mavericks and windows 7, two older OS's.
No believe me. I have not like Windows ever since Windows 8, but since Mac does not work for so many gaming related things, I might have no choice. My only worry is that I buy all of that then a few days later, the Mac editor is patched. Although I largely think this won't happen any time soon.
Well here is something to think about. Last year, the trigger editor broke after a patch, then they fixed it, now the whole thing is broken. They will fix it again. Then it will break again. Might as well get it, its just inevitably going to happen.
I second this. Well. I do have some good news though. Turns out only leviathan here knows what he is talking about. I got parallels and now I am able to use the mac editor, but I found a somewhat better way then what he had suggested. I found a way to get the most recent version for free. Watch this video if any another mac users here want to find out.
This actually got me a working PC SC2 Editor but at the same time the editor moves more slowly on parallels as only leviathan said it would. This can prove to be a major pain cause ever second counts. However at this point the only solution for mac users to truly use the mac editor smoothly would be to buy a high end pc. So I have another question now. I just figured out how to get parallels for free completely legally. Any idea how to get a pc that would play the editor smoothly, but with the least cost possible?
+1 that I too am seeing this issue. I am right in the middle of the Zerg Brood War campaign and would love to finish it. But alas, I can't even open the editor to open Mass Recall.
Give the solution I tried in the video I posted last comment. After doing this and downloading SC2 again, you should at least get a working PC editor on your Mac, but it will be slower.
Actually. Tbh I am not sure if this is happening for everyone, but ever since the recent maintenance started, I have not even been able to play SC2. Says an unexpected fatal error has occurred. I don't know if this is happening just to me or everyone. Ever since the maintain stopped though, this error has not gone away.

Good luck everyone.

3.13 fixed the editor. Lets hope it stays that way.
It won't. Lol. Keep your parallels handy.

Sorry sc2ggamer, I can't say that same has been happening to me at all. Editor and game have been working perfectly for me. I'm running OSX.
Good luck with the issue!
