I am new on these forums and I was just getting this awesome idea for a mini-game type of map. (Have to start somewhere right?)
When the game starts I need the camera to start (or just pan to) in the middle of the map but zoomed out just so that the entire map is within the screen. The player cannot move his/her camera at any time doing the game.
The map is 64x64 so it shouldn't kill your computer by viewing the entire map at all times.
There will be about 6 players (max) running around on the map at any one time.
Anyone who can help me with this?
Thanks in advance! ^^
EDIT:
I've managed to set a camera object now but it rotates 180 degrees when the map is loaded and doesn't cover the entire map as well. I can't figure out why it rotates. It's not because the screen goes upside down but the mini-map shows the exact opposite of what the player is doing so it's really weird.. <_<
In the terrain editor go to the view menu and find the option view entire map.
now at the camera click on create camera. (This camera will be placed at your current viewport in the editor.)
Trigger actions:
at the map init, position the camera using the above created camera. (apply camera object, if I remember corectly)
lock the camera (should be 2 actions that you need for this, I'll add them when I get home in 6 hours, or someone else might beat me to it ;p )
the first action should lock moving (done from memory)
the second action should lock zooming (done from memory)
And then you'll be there.
disclaimer: I've written this reply entirely from memory so some information might be a bit off, but the general line of actions is correct.

I used Copy from Camera Object (I think it is).
