I'm not really understanding the formula you are using to get from: "[Left Endpiece][open left/right][open left/right][Right endpiece]" to "[Left Endpiece][Right endpiece][EMPTY][left/right endpiece]." Also I'm having a hard time picturing this in your map... so walls slide while parallel like those library walls you can crank??
^In this picture you see a seamless wall and a broken wall. Observe how the wall uses the same model for each block, regardless of surrounding wall pieces.
The top wall is correct, except for the ends which should change to a "left wall end" and a "right wall end" model.
The bottom wall is entirely wrong, as it should be 3 seperate "wall" pieces, and not the merged wall model I'm using.
You might be in luck, I made a handy wall system for a map I was playing with a while ago, its all done through trigger though.

Note if a piece is destroyed the walls will not react, I wanted it like that though because in reality if a wall segment is destroyed the other parts will not go ahh shit we gotta rearrange again.

I did sort of offer the system to someone in my team yesterday, but I can see it being useful on a lot of maps so I've been thinking I'll just post a map with it for anyone to see/use.
If you can hang on for a little bit, prob tomorrow, I'm going to make a map with just the wall system, and see if I can improve it any as well. The map it's in now is one I might pick up again in the future so I don't really wanna give that one out to everyone.
Understood. I've been considering joining Team Genesis myself. The map this is for is actually the sequel to Netforce2k4's Custom Castle Defense from WC3. He gave me permission to take over for the SC2 version.

I'm working on some walls and I'd like them to automatically merge together based on the other nearby walls.
[Left Endpiece][open left/right][open left/right][Right endpiece]
Removing piece 3 would change it to:
[Left Endpiece][Right endpiece][EMPTY][left/right endpiece]
If there is a way to do it via the data editor that would work too.
