I've seen a lot of third person shooters recently. Anybody know if they are super laggy or whatever? Blizzard said they were working on mouse lag and stuff. Just wondering, because I'd love to finish a map I abandoned a while ago due to lag.

Nothing is without lag. But the closest i've found would probably be using progammers data editing WASD thingy. But start working on it, by the time 1.1.2 is out, it will be fine.
No, his only works with UI enabled and WASD will be fairly lag-free with blizzard upcoming patches... So are all these new FPS/TPS maps laggy? If so, how bad is it? Are they even playable?

hey said WASD would be as fast as ordering moves with the mouse. I'm going to take blizzards word over yours. Although it may have lag for super bad computers, I would assume its relatively lag free based on thier statement.

Never can be close as a FPS game based on the game's netcode. But the more the better.
By lagging in a FPS map, it mostly graphic lag caused by camera far clip causing unnecessary load on the game outside of what you can possibly see. malu05's project Vector eliminate most of this by using a dynamic camera far clip.
They are using dynamic far clip in a manner of ..... Each player has his own skybox that is centered on the played unit and has a diameter of around 20-40 in game distance. Doing this allows them to set the camera's far clip settings fairly low. So they get the skybox models and they dont slow your computer down rendering stuff that is too far away from the player to even see.
They Dynamically extend the farclip and skybox models when say the player looks out the space ship window to see stars. Take a look at that video in that link its freaking epic.

No it won't. Input will still be delayed by, at a MINIMUM, the round trip time between you and the server. Nothing they do is going to change this.

Dynamic Far clip? Would you mind explain it to me? I have my TPS set up so I can easily adjust the far clip for lag reasons.
bump?
