I wanted to create a map where you can go into a dungeon and fight bosses. Is it still possible to create such a thing, saving the current players hero? What I was thinking is when they jump through the portal, it would load up another map with just the dungeon(s).
So, my two questions are this:
Is it possible to create dungeon(s), using the player's current hero?
Would it be fun to have these dungeons on a separate map, having them load up?
It is not possible yet to do that on battle net, but if you save your maps in the sc2 maps folder, you can actually create a bank file with your unit's data and custom data that you want to transfer over, and then set the new map to where he is and then end the game for him and the dungeon will load, tho you can do it in 1 map if you can squeeze in dungeons, maybe even set the heros height to negative and place doodads under ground as a dungeon. In fact, that gave me an idea i have to try :3
Yeah, I thought about squeezing it into one map but that will just be too tight of a fit I think. How do I go about creating a map file?
On another note, how do I make "caves"? I saw one guy have a cave on youtube. He was making a wow map "with a dungeon" and he had a cave as his mini dungeon.
for a cave just use some rock doodads and place them and rotate them as you need it, or create a simple model as a cave and then use a 3rd / 1st person camera

No, no. I mean when your in 1st person view, you walk from the overworld into a cave.
ie: like this...
totally enclosed cave.
