Your terrain has made me realize how much populated Aiur from LotV actually looks like a civilization from Star Trek. The smooth buildings and pathways with only planned green, combined with an unnatural colour palette and weird sci-fi lights... feels like it's straight out of an episode of Voyager.
I was planning to play a game of the fancy new coop mode (BLIZZARD MORE MISSIONS PLZ) but instead i tried to make something nice with all these cool enviro doodads based blizzard gave us.
The biggest problem I have with the Aiur tileset is that the dirt looks terrible. I hope you guys don't mind if I replace it with something more palatable.

That 2nd screen.... that exacly the kind of terrain that will emerge from the new tilesets, something great, something gold and green, power, energy, adapting the terrain to your need but letting the normal life nature flows regularly... I'm mind blown. Impressed. And I can assure you, your terrain, it looks awesome right now, but there is so much more you could add to it to make it look....FREAKING PROTOSS before the fall of Aiur! In its GLORY time, where all protoss shined through the powerfull Khala. I dont know how to express how much i like this terrain set and the new assest in words. I love it!
I've been checking in on the forum regularly, even when I'm not actually posting or working on anything. But LotV gave me a bunch of new assets to play with, so I'm back to play with them!
Anyhow, back to continue expanding my city! Will upload the map itself when it's more finished, let people take a deeper look around.
EDIT: Starting to burn out on this one, so I'll call it "Good enough" and upload what I have.
Hey Mozared, when I finish with the All Doodad project with the LotV assests and the website update, you think you can make a news about it like when I first shared it years ago? That'd be really cool as this work is like 25% for me, 25% for the people I work with nearby, and 50% for all the community. I want this to be known so it is easier to search through the dodoads etc etc. You know what i mean.
Looking good. That one Zerg 'tree' annoys me, though.
What, that one? Well, there's not much color variation for Aiur Foliage, and since Protoss can fly in space, it's not like they wouldn't bring some exotic plants. :p
I tends to agree with Moz and you Delta. The tree isn't the best model, but the idea of bringing some special beautiful plants is great too. I'm sure there is some little beautiful plants that would fit well, or better :P But it's just a tree in the middle of an EPIC terrain. Well done.
Did you made new stuff? Any screen if so? :P Running out of ideas um.... what burns your energy? Searching through the doodad list?
Mainly I added a Protoss-styled industrial/manufacturing area and filled in a few empty spots.
As for burning out, I'm just losing interest in the map. I put a lot of hours into it and my attention is drifting to other projects that I've been working on.

Sorry I missed this earlier around: sure, I'll look into that for you!
I just thought of something. I would like to see Mozared do some terraining too. I dont recall having seen some new stuff from him in a while :(
My SC2 life has been fairly dead for a while now - mostly because of a lack of projects interesting enough to work on (Starmon has sort of died) and a humongous influx of work coming from my new master studies. While I wouldn't mind donig a few more fun projects (helps the portfolio too), it's just not going to happen at the moment. Maybe when I finish my studies.
That said, I have been playing around in Unity for one of my courses, and here's a preliminary result for you guys...
Good one Mozared but that dosent count.
Is anybody else making the WTE maps available since the are so amazing and super cool can you mapsters please make them available.
That's a pretty good start. Hope you persevere through it, best of luck, mate.
/edit New updates, which reminded me to ask you: Any of you played Myst/Riven? Can any of these give that feel? BTW, some of these 'block' concepts come from the first LotV mission.
That's pretty nice. I get the same feeling as the terrains with Zerus, like, those clumps of flowers, vines and trees are easily matching together and here, with the protoss building it's the same thing, although to get the details, you really have to work you way through it. There is alot of potential with this new Aiur tileset.
We will need to find a way to disable the unit glow behind objects... Otherwise, its not a total failure. It's still great. I like the little tilt in the camera ;)

New updates and a chapter called 'How to try and mimic a short video scene, and spectacularly fail at it'.
P.S: I think I'm liking more and more of the flower/starfish design the 'Toss have for their building blocks. Gives 'em more of an identity.
